If this is a dream, don't wake me up!
Because this job opportunity surely is one that will seem almost too good to be true! (But it really is true!)
Quick TLDR;
Architecture-focused role with a requirement of deep understanding of application-level code. Building new products for a global fintech MNC - with many new products venturing into exciting domains such as AI (GenAI, LLM, etc.). Nice benefits and flexibility to boot!
Alright - got your attention? Here's more details:
What you'll be working on:- Mostly R&D/new product innovations - helping to architect solutions and guide/mentor engineers on implementation of exciting products
- Work closely with enterprise architects and product teams to ensure that applications are architected to the agreed-upon SLAs
- Most work will be backend-centric - including APIs, microservices, cloud services, containers, and more!
- AI-related projects are to be expected - so any relevant experience is a plus (but definitely NOT a requirement).
- A very strong understanding of software/application architecture - more than just knowing event-driven architecture, you should be deeply knowledgeable on best practices for different scenarios, and know how to make the appropriate trade-offs for projects depending on the goals
- Expertise even at the code level - you're not just a high-level planner for the team. Instead, you're expected to still be able to go down to code level and contribute when necessary - so being able to still build APIs and work with modern development tools will be critical for this role (but worry not - the majority of your job scope is still centered around architectural matters).
- Good knowledge of modern development practices/tools - being part of the R&D/innovation team means that you'll be expected to bring expertise on modern tech (cloud, containers, message queues, unit testing practices, etc.) to the table
- Strong experience and background in Java development - most major code repositories and services within the organization are built in Java, so strong experience within modern Java tech is definitely important for this role (Spring, Spring Boot, etc.)
- The opportunity to impact products at scale across the globe (it is a GLOBAL fintech after all!)
- Flexible working arrangements, and a highly-accessible office location within Kuala Lumpur
- A culture that emphasizes deep understanding and strong thought processes over mindless memorization
- Did I mention - nice compensation?
Excited at this one? Can't believe you haven't pinched yourself awake?
