As a Disaster Recovery Manager within Group Cloud Operations, you will play a crucial role managing disaster recovery activities for nominated AIA business units by governing and ensuring all requirements for business continuity are met according to AIA group standards and they comply with regulatory requirements.
Act as coordinator and subject matter expert for Group Cloud Infrastructure to drive jointly with Group Business Continuity appropriate recoverability planning and testing along with Disaster Recovery best practices to mitigate the overall risk to AIA critical business operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work closely with the Group Business Continuity, Business Unit and internal delivery teams on service reporting activities.
- Perform business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments to quantify the impact of a major disruption to the organization's critical processes and to identify threats the organization is exposed to.
- Prepare, coordinate and conduct the organization’s disaster recovery exercises and validation/test to enhance the preparedness of an organization to deal with disruptive events, ensuring the RTO (recovery time objectives) and RPO (recovery point objectives) for the organization’s systems are met.
- Review disaster recovery approach and procedure, adjust disaster recovery runbook where necessary.
- Review organization’s critical business function’s recovery readiness, including reviewing the capability and capacity of recovery systems, oversight on the implementation of the solution and test to ensure DR readiness is in place.
- Advocate continuous service improvement to ensure improvement plan is in place to address operational gaps.
- Manage the Business Units Business Continuity Coordinators and Disaster Recovery third party vendor relationships.
- Manage stakeholders’ relationship.
- Conduct disaster recovery postmortem, prepare test report and management reporting on disaster recovery activities for the Organization.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
Experience:
- 5+ years working experience providing IT Disaster Recovery (DR) service from designated regional IT hub for organization with global presence.
- Well-versed with ITIL IT Service Continuity Management or equivalent concept but not limited to the following: eg. DR Framework, DR Activation, DR Maintenance, DR Reinstatement etc
- Solid experience in digitalization and automation of DR Processes / Workflow
- Proven track record in project management
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing processes.
- Proven track record of high performance in executing Live DR Test scenarios
- Knowledge and experience in digitalization and automation of DR Process will be an advantage.
- Certification in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and related disciplines preferred.

Accountabilities- Perform DR planning, development, program execution, maintenance, and testing.
- Manage risk, controls, and compliance management, supporting BC/DR audit and examination activities, and development & maintenance of policies, standards & procedures that are aligned with BNM requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate with all business and support teams bank-wide in any DR related activities.
- Ensure that IT DR for all critical applications has been fully documented and tested based on their respective DR cycle requirements.
- Review and maintain disaster recovery policy, strategy, standards, and processes to recover all critical systems within required time frames.
- Provide periodic or ad-hoc reporting and tracking of disaster recovery issues and remediation activities.
- Coordinate with relevant support teams and business units to support the organization's recovery objectives.
- Assist the Head of DR in designing, coordinating, and executing BCP/DR annual test exercises for critical business processes, producing test reports including lessons learned and follow-up actions.
- Review Business Criticality Definition (BCD), recovery priorities, timelines, and strategies for proper recovery sequence.
- Regularly review existing and proposed plans for recoverability effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist Crisis Management / Incident Management teams during service disruption events and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Relevant Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery certifications such as CBCP/ABCP or DRCS.
- Experience in BCP framework components: Business Resumption Planning, Crisis Management Planning, Incident Response Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, Plan Exercising/Testing, Conducting BIAs.
- Financial Services/Banking industry experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in assessments aligned with best practices.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing demands, and priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders, fostering confidence and resolution of control gaps and issues.
- Ability to build positive relationships across multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership and department heads.
- Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

Working experience / knowledge in digitalization and automation of DR Processes / Workflow
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong analytical skills and able to pay close attention to complex detail , able to work well under fast -paced environment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing processes.
Strong experience in executing Live DR Test
Knowledge and experience in digitalization and automation of DR Process will be an advantage.
Certification in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and related disciplines preferred.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disaster Recovery (DR) Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of experience in managing and coordinating company-wide IT disaster recovery plans, with a strong background and hands-on experience in leading DR automation tools. This role requires the ability to provide insights and formulate DR strategies, ensuring the organisation is prepared for any IT disruptions. The DR Analyst will work closely with all levels of the organisation to implement the best practices and ensure seamless recovery processes. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate and conduct DR simulation exercises, maintain DR onboarding processes, and demonstrate a proven track record of success in the related field.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive IT disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Assess current DR plans and identify areas for improvement.
- Create detailed DR procedures for various disaster scenarios.
- Ensure DR plans are up-to-date and reflect current business operations.
Coordinate and conduct regular DR testing and simulations to ensure effectiveness and readiness.
- Plan and execute DR simulation exercises.
- Analyse results from DR tests and identify gaps.
- Report findings and recommendations to senior management.
Utilize DR automation tools to streamline and enhance recovery processes.
- Implement and manage DR automation software.
- Train staff on the use of DR automation tools.
- Monitor the effectiveness of automated recovery processes.
Provide expert insights and formulate strategic DR plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats.
- Assist in developing strategic plans to address identified risks.
- Analyse emerging threats and trends (e.g., cyberattacks, natural disasters, supply chain disruptions) to proactively adjust DR strategies
Collaborate with various departments to ensure DR plans are integrated with business operations.
- Work closely with business departments to understand their specific DR needs.
- Facilitate communication between departments during DR planning and execution.

Maintain documentation of DR plans, procedures, and test results.
- Keep detailed records of all DR plans and procedures.
- Document the results of DR tests and simulations.
- Ensure documentation is easily accessible and regularly updated.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to disaster recovery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

About the Role
As a Disaster Recovery Manager within Group Cloud Operations, you will play a crucial role managing all disaster recovery activities for the overall environment, governing and ensuring all planned business continuity activities are implemented and comply to regulatory requirements. Act as Business Continuity Management Coordinator for Group Cloud Infrastructure. Working closely with Group Business Continuity team to ensure appropriate recoverability planning and testing is in place along with Disaster Recovery best practices to mitigate the overall risk to AIA critical business operations.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
Work closely with the Group Business Continuity , Business Unit and internal delivery teams on service reporting activities.
Perform business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments to quantify the impact of a major disruption to the organization's critical processes and to identify threats the organization is exposed to.
Prepare, coordinate and conduct the organization’s disaster recovery exercises and validation/test in order to enhance the preparedness of an organization to deal with disruptive events, ensuring the RTO (recovery time objectives ) and RPO (recovery point objectives ) for the organization’s systems are met.
Review disaster recovery approach and procedure, adjust disaster recovery runbook where necessary.
Review organization’s critical business function’s recovery readiness, including reviewing the capability and capacity of recovery systems, oversight on the implementation of the solution and test to ensure DR readiness is in place.
Advocate continuous service improvement to ensure improvement plan is in place to address operational gaps.
Manage the Business Units Business Continuity Coordinators and Disaster Recovery third party vendor relationships.
Manage stakeholders’ relationship .
Conduct disaster recovery postmortem , prepare test report and management reporting on disaster recovery activities for the Organization.
Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks .
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years working experience providing IT Disaster Recovery (DR) service from designated regional IT hub for organization with global presence.
Well-verse with ITIL IT Service Continuity Management or equivalent concept but not limited to the following: eg. DR Framework, DR Activation, DR Maintenance, DR Reinstatement etc
Working experience / knowledge in digitalization and automation of DR Processes / Workflow
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong analytical skills and able to pay close attention to complex detail , able to work well under fast -paced environment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing processes.
Strong experience in executing Live DR Test
Knowledge and experience in digitalization and automation of DR Process will be an advantage.
Certification in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and related disciplines preferred.
