Lead and manage the cross-functional team consisting of members and subject matter experts from various functions as well as external consultants and advisors in the execution/sourcing of mergers, acquisitions, and divestment (M&A) opportunities/deals sanctioned by Management to ensure the most viable, profitable, and competitive investments are made;

  • To safeguard the company’s Specialty Chemical (SC) interests;
  • To achieve the Company strategies and targets for sustainable growth;
  • Alignment to the company’s strategic direction and integrated value are unlocked & optimized.

Job Description:

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets or merger partners that align with the company’s growth strategy. This may involve evaluating industry trends, competitive landscape, and financial performance of potential targets.
  • Execution of Merger & Acquisition (M&A) transactions: Plan, lead, coordinate and drive all matters related to Investment and M&A transaction process which include conducting valuation, conducting due diligence, developing deal structures, developing negotiation strategies and finalizing the legal documentation in accordance with the relevant limits of authority.
  • Post Acquisition activities: Coordinate and drive the development of integration plans post-acquisition. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as HR, IT, operations) to address integration challenges and ensure smooth transition and realization of synergies.
  • Stakeholders Management, Communication & Reporting: Build and maintain relationships with external advisors, consultants, and other parties involved in M&A transactions. Foster positive relationships and collaboration to support successful outcomes.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related field.

Requirement:

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in mergers & acquisitions (for manager)/ Minimum of 17 years of work experience in mergers & acquisitions (for senior manager), strategic planning, economic evaluation, finance, business development, or similar exposure.
  • Able to lead a multi-disciplinary team and experience in drafting or negotiating commercial agreements is an added advantage.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors for a comprehensive and efficient due diligence process.
  • Prepare reports, board papers, presentations and deal documentation for stakeholders.

Value Assurance:

  • Support MISC’s business units in evaluating the investment case for new capital projects.

Business Improvement:

  • Collaborate in the development and formulation of business improvement initiatives, including gathering relevant data, conducting in-depth analysis and benchmarking.
  • Coordinate the implementation of such initiatives, including stakeholder management, project management, timeline monitoring and documentation.

REQUIREMENT & QULATIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, financial advisory services or a related field is an advantage.
  • Experience with financial modeling, data analysis or research is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related field.
  • Professional qualification is an advantage.

SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical skills and able to perform detailed financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to perform financial modeling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to clearly present complex information.

JOB PURPOSE

  • To assist in managing AHIB's Securities Division Risk Management function, ensuring that various risk initiatives are effectively carried out and providing the necessary support to key stakeholders to meet their needs while adhering to Affin Bank Group (ABG)'s Risk Management Framework and regulatory requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Responsible for daily risk monitoring ensuring compliance with risk policies and framework and update key stakeholders of any exceptions noted in a timely manner.
  • Prepare accurate and timely risk and analysis reports and presentation materials for risk committees meetings.
  • Co-ordinate with various business and support units throughout the organization as well as external parties to obtain information necessary for the preparation of required reports.
  • Assist in maintaining governance standards, complying with associated policies, minimum and prudential standards, developing and embedding risk management processes within the organization.
  • Develop new risk methodologies, frameworks and controls to continuously improve AHIB's risk management function.
  • Provide support in conducting stress testing scenarios.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by Head, Securities Division Risk Management/Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree and/or professional qualification.
  • At least 3 years of working experience preferably in finance/banking.
  • Strong inter-personal communication skills, self-motivated and with a strong passion to learn.
  • Analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
  • A team player, dynamic, able to work under pressure and independently with minimum supervision.
