Job Description
Supporting the smooth execution of hands-on surgical training programs This role provides direct, practical support, assisting healthcare professionals (HCPs) and during cadaveric courses. With a focus on operational excellence, the Procedural Specialist is responsible for the preparation, setup, and teardown of training stations, specimen handling, troubleshooting during sessions, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance within the lab.
What will you need to be successful?
Success in the role will require a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization. Successful candidates would need the following:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical clinical orthopaedics environment, or equivalent experience working directly with healthcare professionals (HCPs) in a surgical or training setting
- Experience in inventory handling and working closely with healthcare professionals in training environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with HCPs and internal stakeholders in high-paced, hands-on training environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and best practices for clinical and lab operations, prioritizing safety, and compliance.
- Skilled in cadaveric lab setup and handling specimens with universal precautions
- Familiarity with orthopaedic surgical instruments and lab equipment
- Strong understanding of infection control, health and safety, and lab compliance protocols
- Hands-on experience in inventory tracking and course logistic
- Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and customer service skills

- Perform and support specific biomedical equipment maintenance activities at hospital premises under his responsibilities including testing and commissioning, warranty management, scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, asset decommission, advisory services, user training, vendor management, parts delivery to comply with the hospital support service’s contract agreement and safety requirement.
- Ensure all activities comply with Quality, Safety, Health and environment activities (Quality Assurance Program, Risk Management, Hazard Alert and Recall, Handling Hazardous Equipment) as per contract agreement.
- Drive service compliance such as ISO 13485:2016, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14971:2018, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007and 6S audit to achieve company’s strategy and corporate score card.
- Implement cost saving activities to achieve company financial annual target.
- Ensure Deduction Formula and Penalty for related equipment does not exceed company’s target by performing activities such as repair of equipment less than seven (7) working days including communication with vendors, work order response less than 15 minutes (emergency) and 2 hours (normal call), planned preventive maintenance completed before target date, ensure equipment are functioning and maintained as per specified uptime target and testing and commissioning and warranty management completed as per schedule according to contract.
- Provide on job training to technical personnel to build up staff’s competency level.
- Produce reports related to specific biomedical equipment (Engineering Operation Data, Condition Appraisal, Technical Report) using ASIS in line with contract’s agreement.
- Drive state holder management (external -Contractor Performance Assessment and Customer Satisfaction Survey, internal – headquarters, vendor etc.) effectively by providing excellent services to maintain good relationship and achieve high customer satisfaction level as per Key Performance Indicator (KPI) set by Company and Ministry of Health.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or related Engineering.
- At least 2 - 5 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Certificate of Competency from the corresponding manufacturer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia or Malaysian Board of Technologies
- Preferable candidates with the hospital’s support services experience.
