The Reliability Engineering Team is responsible for the overall health of critical systems across Vantage global facilities. Position DescriptionThe Reliability Engineer for Mechanical Systems is responsible for the overall operational health of critical cooling systems. This responsibility includes oversight of facility acceptance testing, mechanical system maintenance planning, and Facility Operations technical support. Requirements for this position include full familiarity with mechanical systems arrangements, equipment types, system automation and control components. The Reliability Engineer candidate understands component failures and the extended effects of those failures on the larger cooling system as well as appropriate mitigating actions. Also required is an understanding of cooling system theory, an ability to read drawings and schematics, and an ability to identify likely failure points in design. The mechanical reliability engineer acts as an advisor for Site Operations to reference as needed and has enough experience to train technicians to the level of effective troubleshooting. The mechanical systems Reliability Engineer regularly interfaces the Vantage Design Engineering team, the Automation Systems Group, and Facility Operations teams.
Essential Job FunctionsEnsure newly built systems meet design intent and perform without issue during the facility acceptance testing phases of new construction.
Design maintenance programs to maximize equipment operability and efficiency while minimizing life cycle costs.

We are looking for a Sustainment Design Engineer to join our team to drive different scales of customization, relocation, and industrialization projects. The candidate is a lead engineer who is taking full technical ownership of the products. Translating customer needs into engineering characteristics and into unique products. Combines design optimization, with value-driven design to support and automate configuration of customized products. It is crucial to ensure all projects are delivered on time. Reporting directly to the team leader, you will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the company, actively participate in all phases of the project, including requirement definition, design, development, research, fabrication, testing/integration, customer interface, maintenance, safety, and economic utilization in the manufacture of VAT products. The role requires a mechanical background as a fundamental, good proficiency in computer-aided design, drawing, drafting standards and practical geometry tolerance. Good communication skills, ability to work independently under low supervision, and work effectively within diverse multi-functional teams, using deep mechanical knowledge and experience to drive improvements in quality, cost, and technological capability of VAT products. Able to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries. Success in this role is dependent on the in-and-external collaboration to maintain the organization's day-to-day business operation, courage in taking the ownership and responsibility of the product series. Your
responsibilities
include, but are not limited to: Good product knowledge including design, machining, assembly, and the surrounding processes. Managing the product technical portfolio and keeping it up to date with support from Customization Design Engineer. Lead the technical aspects of relocation and customization projects by turning customer-specific requests into deliveries. Technical lead for Product & Quality team in providing technical advice, root cause analysis and implementing short and long-term measures. Establish design guidelines and a checker to ensure good design quality. Support the Change Request and Change Management, liaising with engineering change department for ECR/ECN implementation at the production floor, keeping the product up to date. Involved in customer audits and provide technical support for Customer Complaints. Support laboratory activities. Drive product industrialization by design improvement, optimization, and cost-down projects. Industrialization of new standard and customer-specific products in close cooperation with industrialization project managers, HQ-design engineers, and product engineers. Drive product optimization via collaboration with manufacturing departments, supplier development engineers, and project buyers. Render technical support to NPI product until handoff to operations. Support customers together with product management and application engineers. Perform design reviews and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) at cross-departmental levels. Work together with Product Manager in conducting product training. Participate in PFMEA, DFMEA, and design walkthroughs. 70% engineering coordination task with 30% design-related task. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Sense of responsibility. Able to work independently with minimum supervision. Team player, ability to collaborate professionally in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills, with good English proficiency. Strong analytical skills. Skill in 3D-CAD. Good understanding of GD&T and its application. Proactive, agile, creative, self-motivated. Preferred Qualifications: Experienced with CAD software – SIEMENS NX. Experienced in change management. Experienced in project management (structured working method). Knowledge in vacuum industry technology. Experienced in design and application of mechatronic components (Motor, sensor, heaters, etc.). Experience in the production of cast parts, sheet metal parts, injection-moulding parts. VAT is an equal opportunity employer.
