What Role You Will Play In The Team

  • You will be an integral part of our engineering team providing quality technical insights and support to ExxonMobil’s manufacturing facilities globally, encompassing refineries and chemical plants
  • Depending on your experience level, you will be designated as either a Manufacturing Process Engineer (MPE) with a pathway to Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineer (AMPE), or straight to an AMPE role
  • Position is based in Kuala Lumpur

What You Will Do
  • Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineer
  • Provide longer term process engineering technical deliverables with a focus on broader fleet and platform specific initiatives
  • Collaborate with Senior Manufacturing Process Engineers to drive implementation of continuous improvement elements e.g. technology focused trainings, tools training, and innovative technical solutions
  • Provide formal and informal technical guidance to Process Engineers on manufacturing deliverables, in some cases directly involved in site optimization / troubleshooting initiatives
  • Manufacturing Process Engineer
  • As an extended member of the site technical team, you will provide high frequency and long term process unit monitoring and analysis for ExxonMobil’s global manufacturing facilities
  • Utilize commercial and proprietary advanced analytical tools & modeling software to provide technical insights, recommendations, and drive optimization opportunities
  • Perform high level business stewardship activities including energy utilization, material balance, and unit improvement opportunity analysis

About You
Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with an excellent academic track record
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant energy industry experience in refining or chemical process technologies i.e. Crude Processing, Fluid Catalytic Cracking, Heavy Oil Conversion, Hydroprocessing / Reforming, Alky, Amine Treating, Sulfur Recovery, Utilities System, Olefins, Aromatics, Butyl, Polypropylene
  • Those with adjacent manufacturing industry experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Be able to demonstrate intellectual rigor, drive, and proactiveness in leading change
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural global setting coupled with strong written & verbal communication skills

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production capacity; estimating future requirements
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service
  • Maintains product and process by establishing work instruction, procedures, checklist and others to enable manufacturing process within safety guidelines
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Interact with customers to resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues/problems under general supervision
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • 2 ~ 4 years work experience in manufacturing engineering and lean manufacturing of complex mechanical build
  • Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. Or related engineering. Diploma holder with > 3 years working experiences can be considered.
  • Strong background in workmanship standard example cables and harness, mechanical hardware, chassis and hardware assembly fittings would be an advantage.
  • Has dealt with semi-conductor equipment assembly; wafer sorter / EFFEM would be an added advantage. Front End / Back End / PDU (AC/DC Power Distribution Box)
  • Understand BOM and Engineering change process

What role you will play in the team
  • You will be an integral part of our engineering team providing quality technical insights and support to ExxonMobil’s manufacturing facilities globally, encompassing refineries and chemical plants.
  • Depending on your experience level, you will be designated as either a Manufacturing Process Engineer (MPE) with a pathway to Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineer (AMPE), or straight to an AMPE role.
  • Position is based in Kuala Lumpur.
What you will do
  • Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineer:
    • Provide longer-term process engineering technical deliverables with a focus on broader fleet and platform-specific initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Senior Manufacturing Process Engineers to drive implementation of continuous improvement elements e.g. technology-focused training, tools training, and innovative technical solutions.
    • Provide formal and informal technical guidance to Process Engineers on manufacturing deliverables, in some cases directly involved in site optimization/troubleshooting initiatives.
  • Manufacturing Process Engineer:
    • As an extended member of the site technical team, you will provide high-frequency and long-term process unit monitoring and analysis for ExxonMobil’s global manufacturing facilities.
    • Utilize commercial and proprietary advanced analytical tools & modeling software to provide technical insights, recommendations, and drive optimization opportunities.
    • Perform high-level business stewardship activities including energy utilization, material balance, and unit improvement opportunity analysis.
About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with an excellent academic track record.
