Detailed Description- Oversee end-to-end NPI activities for PCBA, ensuring smooth transition from design to mass production.
- Collaborate with Internal DFM team and customer, manufacturing peers, and suppliers to meet DFM/DFT (Design for Manufacturing/Test) requirement
- Resolve technical challenges during prototyping, pilot runs, and production ramp-up.
High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV) Process Expertise
- Optimize PCBA processes for HMLV environments, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
- Manage BOM optimization, component obsolescence, and alternate sourcing strategies.
- Work closely with internal equipment team to ensure quick changeovers and minimal downtime.
Yield & Quality Improvement
- Develop PFMEA and implement poka-yoke solution, technical action (Jig/fixtures) to improve first-pass yield.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for PCBA failures and implement corrective actions.
- Establish quality metrics and drive continuous improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean methodologies).
- Deep knowledge for root cause analysis
Cost-Saving & Lean Initiatives
- Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities, Material, overhead reduction without compromising quality.
- Implement **Lean manufacturing** principles to eliminate waste in PCBA processes.
- Optimize inventory management for HMLV production through good yield to reduce bonepile inventory.
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Mentor Engineers and technicians for manufacturing teams.
- Collaborate with Test engineering, Operation (Production), and QA teams to ensure product reliability.
- Communicate technical and project updates to senior management.
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Experiences: 8+ years in PCBA manufacturing /NPI, including 3+ years in leadership.
- Proven track record in **HMLV manufacturing, yield improvement, and cost reduction**.
- Expertise in IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-7351).
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and data-driven decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Manufacturing engineering for PCBA assembly.
- Knowledge of **thermal/mechanical stress analysis** for reliability.
- Background in Industrial and Test measurement product compliance .

**Job Overview**
Lead and manage manufacturing engineering **with the objective** of ensuring on time and successful delivery of the projects and provision of effective support to new business **within** TE operation and engineering plan and budget.
**Job Requirements**
**Manufacturing Engineering**
Develop advanced process technology; review automation project, Cost saving project; review new sample making reports; and provide technical support to key project in order to effectively support production and business development.
+ Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, processes, and workflows.
+ Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Collaborate with design and quality teams on new product introductions.
+ Ensure equipment, tooling, and facilities are optimized for productivity and safety.
+ Troubleshoot production issues and recommend corrective actions.
+ Conduct time and motion studies and establish standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
+ Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
+ Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for materials, tools, and machinery.
+ Provide training and technical support to production staff.
**Planning and Budgeting**
Develop and implement section budget and plan, and monitor the achievement of the budget _in order to_ achieve targeted department performance.
**Policies and Procedures**
Implement new global product development policies, procedures and systems; and maintain and develop local product development policies, procedures _in order to_ meet TE's global requirements.
**People Management & Development**
Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports; mentor, develop and motivate them; help resolve people/functional issues in the team _in order to_ achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.
**Asset Management**
Manage fixed asset and find new opportunity to reuse idle asset on new project in order to reduce product cost.
**What your background should look like**
+ Bachelor's Degree with engineering and sciences in Mechanical, electrical & electronic, IE;
+ 12 - 15 years cable assembly working experience including 5 years management experience.

In this role, you need to lead the Manufacturing Engineering Department, which includes New Product Introduction, new line setup, product transfer, process development and optimization, continuous improvement, engineering change control, etc. What you will do: Lead the Manufacturing Engineering Department, which includes New Product Introduction, new line setup, product transfer, process development and optimization, continuous improvement, engineering change control, etc. Work with product engineers/tooling team to define manufacturing processes. Work with all relevant functions to ensure manufacturing line readiness. Provide ME support to operations for smooth day-to-day manufacturing and continuous improvement. OEE (Operation Efficiency) improvement (ie. up-time, throughput, scrap rate, etc.) Identify and drive OPEX Labor savings projects to support annual cost savings budget. Facilitate Kaizen events and other Lean activities for continuous improvement. Actively support new business pursuit by participating in the design phase and leading the manufacturing phase of the Product Development Process (Phase/Gate). Drive standardization of manufacturing processes. Lead automation for new and existing programs. Responsible for team capability growth. Define manufacturing process technology roadmap. We are looking for: Bachelor's degree, major in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or automation. Strong communication skills. Excellent oral and written English skills. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in CNC precision part machining and electro-mechanical part assembly environment. 5+ years of NPI and engineering management experience (leading people experience). Expertise with Lean / Six Sigma Manufacturing, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis. Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO9001/QS9000/IATF16949. Motor manufacturing experience is a plus.
