Your Key responsibilities:
The Manager/Senior Manager Intelligent Automation is responsible to ensure successful identification, execution and delivery of engineering projects involving degrees of automation and new manufacturing technologies, for the areas within scope of accountability. The engineering process for equipment projects will be harmonized among the Competence Centers of the Non-Active Medical CoE’s and leads to the systematic specifying of equipment, the subsequent sourcing of capable suppliers as well as the tracking and supervising of the machine built (System Engineering main process). This function will closely collaborate with the equipment projects team in assessing identified technology suppliers regarding the maturity of proposed manufacturing processes. The holder will be responsible to ensure close co-ordination especially with R&D for product development and manufacturability to mastering the installed core processes for production. The person is crucial for determining the collaboration with R&D regarding new products within the combined product and process development process described in the BBMAG IMS process 5-2-02 (Development PCP).- Work closely with HOD to set up an organizational structure within BMI addressing core manufacturing processes and the consequences for related technical training.
- Responsible for disciplinary and technical leadership of the area according to the Corporate Rules of Governance. Identifying, defining and accomplishing projects in the area of core production processes in co-operation with internal and external suppliers.
- Responsible for guiding the nominated technical experts from the own organization in the global CoC and the related sub-CoC groups (Center of Competence). Develop suitable strategies to execute governance over the core processes within the area of regional responsibility defined for the BTC-AP BMI in relation to the OMM (Operating Model Medical).
- Responsible to develop User’s Requirement Specification (URS) and Functional Specification (FS).
- Driving the collaboration between process development and R&D to promote the simultaneous engineering process for combined product and process development with the aim of generating manufacturable new products in accordance with the CoE’s and division’s needs. Conduct early evaluations of manufacturing technology suppliers in APAC region which would enhance B. Braun manufacturing capabilities, especially in the area of innovative process technologies.
- Provide training concepts and execution recommendations for technically skilled workers, to be implemented by a technical training center.
- At least 8 years of experience in medical device engineering projects and machine development and innovation. At least 3 years of leadership experience and able to motivate, coach, and develop employees, and collaborate with functional leaders and teams. Experience implementing process improvements, automation technologies, knowledge in Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing. Project management experience in working and supporting timely delivery of projects within agreed budgets. Ability to create/manage a vision and think strategically, plan and organize, innovate, analyze complex data and situations, and exercise sound judgment.
- Experience in managing multiple concurrent research efforts to collect, analyze and present findings to inform decision making. Experience working in a highly regulated environment is required. Experiences success in creating, developing, and launching innovation in the market. A proven passion for science and engineering as a business with interest and understanding of the business side of innovation. Strong discovery skills, particularly questioning, observing, and experimenting. Naturally curious and genuinely motivated in learning new things and understanding relationships between teams, people, customers, products, processes, and culture. Able to gather and synthesize information from a variety of people, and then assess how to make improvements in communication or process.
- Ability to clearly assess, articulate, and manage risk with a sense of urgency to meet project/program deliverables, on schedule, and on budget. Must also have the ability to see the big picture, be comfortable escalating issues and concerns to leadership, prepare contingency plans, and ensure execution of plans through effective organizational awareness.
- Ability to cast project/program management vision in the context of B. Braun’s business model, translating technical strategy to actionable and achievable initiatives. Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Control Systems Engineer to join our global team. The role is based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur.
What you will do
If successful, you will represent the Business Unit in providing effective above-site manufacturing digital and data optimization support. You will be part of the team to leverage central work processes and tools and identify continuous improvement opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to grow and develop junior engineers.
Key deliverables include:
- Support process control systems infrastructure (software/hardware) and advanced control applications for refineries and chemical plants
- Design and engineer computing infrastructure such as servers, operating systems and networks
- Integrate and deploy advanced control applications into the industrial control systems (ICS) environment
- Provide effective above-site Control Systems sustainment support
- Leverage work processes and tools to facilitate effective above-site support, and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency
- Primary interface for remote engineering support with manufacturing Site Engineers
- Establish yourself as an extended member of the site Control Systems team, and proactively contribute to work-planning and prioritization discussions
- Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure applications infrastructure within scope of responsibility are operating at optimum level
- Maintain strong working relationship with Control System Support Team (CSST)
- Interface with and provide input to SME and Supervisor on issues and opportunities
- Monitoring and surveillance of integrity parameters to ensure reliable operations
- Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and integrity recommendation stewardship
- Bad actor identification and analysis to reduce equipment downtime
- Data analytics, digital tools/technologies and operationalize upgraded work practices through digital transformation
- Overall integrity effectiveness and management
- Regional oversight and stewardship of integrity work product metrics for quality, effectiveness, and efficiency
- Coordination and communication between various global centers and business affiliates
- Technical mentoring and continuous on-the-job guidance to junior engineers
- Ability to learn and adapt to an agile and flexible working environment
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology
- Experience with virtualization, networking, Windows servers, operating systems, Active Directory, domain controllers and/or PowerShell
- Experience with software configuration, integration, testing and technical documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
- Troubleshooting skills, innovative and analytical thinking
- Intellectual rigor, strong drive and desire to lead change
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural global team
- Understanding of operational aspects such as high availability, monitoring, security, and robustness
Preference will be given to those with the following additional skills/abilities:
