ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment used in the Backend Process.
  • Provide manufacturing and equipment support in a rapidly changing development and high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to schematics, manuals, or specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting diagnosis on production equipment.
  • Resolve non-standard problems independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, or Mechatronics.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PC software/hardware issues.
  • Ability to read schematics, use hand tools, electrical gauges, and test equipment.
  • Understanding of PLC systems and vision systems (an advantage).
  • Attention to detail, troubleshooting methodology, and project management skills.
  • Leadership qualities for training and mentoring technicians.

Job Description

The Backend Equipment Technician performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment used in Backend Process.

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides manufacturing and equipment support needs in a rapidly changing development and high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and assembles equipment according to schematics, repair manuals, or specifications.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting diagnosis on production equipment.
  • Resolves non-standard problems, works with minimal supervision, and can adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of managing own activities as well as supporting team activities.
  • Works with engineering to support new equipment installations and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics

Preferred:

  • Proficient at troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PC software/hardware related issues.
  • Ability to use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair of equipment.
  • Ability to understand PLC systems.
  • Ability to use vision systems will be an added advantage.
  • Self-motivator; ability to work independently under general guidance and direction.
  • High level attention to detail with methodical approach to troubleshooting and project management.
  • Provide leadership to other technicians through training and mentorship.
  • Drive solutions and guidelines by recommending and writing maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with peers, engineering, and managers.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root causes, and drive factory improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Auto VMI, Auto Labeling and Auto Packing equipment/process would be an added advantage.

Skills

  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of PC-based Backend Equipment.
  • Knowledge in machine control systems such as PLC, sensors, relays, and pneumatics.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office and computer applications.
