Job Description:

System Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the customer's IT infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT professionals, in this case IT end user, partners to ensure that the systems and network infrastructure are operating efficiently and securely. Your role will involve in IT system project study, design, installation, test run and post installation such as troubleshooting, as well as periodic optimizing performance, as well as schedule maintenance.

Other duties include attending project meeting, technical requirement study, project planning and technical deployment of the IT system project with other project team members.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement, and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage systems, and network devices
• Configure and deploy operating systems, applications, and services according to best practices
• Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and expansions
• Communicate and collaborate with multitier personnel, such as clients and vendors
• Prepare pre and post-project documentation
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution and escalation
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues and ensure meeting SLA

Job Requirement:

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Proven experience in implementing, and managing system infrastructure solutions
• Strong knowledge of operating systems & storages (e.g., Windows Server, Linux/Unix) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CompTIA Security+ are advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Result oriented with excellent process and SOP executor with right attitudes is important.
• Project management experience or having been integral to projects would be advantageous
• Minimum 2-5 years working experience in a system operation position.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to be based in Jakarta, Indonesia or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia . This role will operate under the general guidance of the Global Support Center. The engineer will conduct training workshops, customer engagements, and consultations for customers related to support for Boeing products and global initiatives and facilitate discussions in multiple languages.

Position Responsibilities:

• Serve as an instructor for customer workshops, leveraging expertise in areas such as Systems Engineering, specific airplane ATAs (e.g., Flight Control, Thrust Reversers, Landing Gears), Maintenance, Wiring, Airplane Drawings, Reliability, and more. Develop training materials within your area of specialization.

• Provide customer support by resolving operational issues, analyzing customer data to enhance efficiency and reliability, and assisting with Entry into Service programs as needed.

• Support special projects by applying project management skills across diverse subjects, coordinating effectively with various stakeholders and internal teams.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with airlines, communicating relevant activities to local Boeing leadership and internal management.

• Foster close collaboration with internal Boeing teams across Southeast Asia, China, and the United States.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) – Knowledge and Competency Required:

• Proven knowledge and experience in avionic systems is essential.
• Expertise in Systems Engineering with specific knowledge of airplane electrical systems (ATA 24) and working familiarity with ATA chapters 22, 23, 31, 34, and 42 is required.
• Direct experience working with Southeast Asia customers is mandatory.
• Locally hired and possess proficiency in the local language (reading, writing, and speaking) where you will be positioned along with a strong understanding of the local culture.
• Professional-level proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) is required.
• Broad knowledge of aviation, the aviation industry, and Boeing products and services.
• Solid understanding of the aviation industry overall, including airline operations.
• Good knowledge of FAA regulations, country-specific aviation rules, and other industry standards such as ICAO documents.
• Willingness to travel 25% to 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Strong background in heavy maintenance checks involving wiring modifications is highly desirable.
• Proficient in the use of common aviation test and troubleshooting equipment (multi-meter, TDR, Etc.)
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics.
• Experience with QAR (Quick Access Recorder) and ACMS (Aircraft Condition Monitoring System) troubleshooting is highly preferred.
• Mechanical systems knowledge in ATA chapters 21, 27, 28, 29, 32, and 36 is recommended.

Problem Solving:

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to coordinate and establish relationships with regulatory agencies, manage special projects, and collaborate effectively with internal Boeing teams.

Discretion:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from the Manager of Global Support Center.
• Strong time management and project management skills.

Impact:

• Leads and guides the successful completion of key aspects of major programs and may take on project leadership roles. Contributions can significantly influence special projects involving customers and the Global Initiative team.

Liaison:

• Acts as a representative of the organization by providing solutions to complex technical issues related to specific projects. Engages with personnel across organizations and external customers, developing a broad network of internal and external relationships. Proficiency in English is essential.

Typical Education / Experience:

• Engineering degree with relevant aviation industry experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Degree should be from an accredited program; ABET accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong background in heavy maintenance checks involving wiring modifications is highly desirable.
• Proficient in the use of common aviation test and troubleshooting equipment (multi-meter, TDR, Etc.)

• Experience with QAR (Quick Access Recorder) and ACMS (Aircraft Condition Monitoring System) troubleshooting is highly preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Degree should be from an accredited program; ABET accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the systems engineer will provide engineering design, technical configuration, and drawing of various telecommunication systems.

He/She will possess extensive knowledge and experience in engineering design of telecommunication, safety & security, and marine navigation systems covering technologies such as IP Infrastructure, WIFI WLAN, Firewall security, IP-PABX, PAGA, CCTV, VCS, TETRA/DMR UHF/VHF Radio, GMDSS Radio, GEO/MEO/LEO VSAT, IPTV, Radar, Gyrocompass, etc., and provide engineering design, technical configuration, proof of concept, as well as drawing instruction of various telecom systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering design, understand client requirements thoroughly, and propose suitable solutions that meet specifications.
• Produce engineering documents (VDRL) and address client comments promptly, ensuring high quality and accuracy.
• Create initial drawings and guide AutoCAD drafters to produce engineering deliverables.
• Apply industry standards and best practices in engineering drawing preparation, design, review, and submission.
• Supervise in-house technicians in equipment assembly and cabinet integration; implement system configuration, simulation, testing, and verification.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) for clients and provide in-house training to clients and commissioning engineers.
• Perform any other ad hoc tasks as required for business needs.

Requirements

• Minimum diploma in telecommunications or a related technical discipline.
• Proven 4-5 years of experience in a similar role within the industrial markets.
• Strong documentation and time management skills.
• Ability to articulate and share concepts effectively with customers and suppliers.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading teams.
• Objective-driven, time-sensitive, and resourceful.
• Autocad certification is an advantage.
• Site commissioning/radio surveying experience as per SOLAS/MODU is an advantage.
• Experience using coverage tools such as CadnaA for PAGA, Ekahau for WIFI coverage, and iBwave for UHF/GSM coverage is an advantage.
