About The Role

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who is technically proficient in programming to build machine learning systems and maintain high performing machine learning models in production. Designing machine learning systems requires that you, as the machine learning engineer, is able to frame business problems and design machine learning solutions that can effectively bring value to the company. You will prototype, implement and experiment with machine learning methods to solve business use cases. You will lead efforts to automate, architect and optimise machine learning processes and workflows. You will also help define, execute and enforce best practices for test-driven model development processes for the entire Data Science team in MoneyLion.

Key Responsibilities

• Able to frame and contextualize machine learning problems
• Research, build and design machine learning systems and models that can solve business problems
• Assess, understand and analyse data to select appropriate datasets for data modelling and testing
• Identify, prototype and implement appropriate machine learning algorithms and tools to improve our products
• Design, execute and monitor machine learning model experiments and metrics
• Perform statistical analysis to evaluate and prove business impact of modelling improvements
• Automate, architect and orchestrate machine learning processes and pipelines
• Monitor, optimise and maintain machine learning solutions in production
• Enrich existing machine learning libraries and model development frameworks to empower model development in MoneyLion
• Work with MLOps Engineers and Data Scientists to improve systems designs and architectures
• Enforce test-driven development and advocate engineering best practices to reduce technical debt in machine learning systems
• Develop tools and internal libraries to facilitate model governance over the machine learning development lifecycle
  
  

About You

• Strong mathematical, statistical or actuarial background
• Good programming knowledge and software engineering skills
• Must have hands on experience in machine learning, predictive analytics and statistical modelling
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Adept at problem solving and troubleshooting using both textbook methods and novel viewpoints
• Proficient in Python and SQL
• Proficient with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM
• Preferably have experience in building machine learning systems and workflows
• Preferably familiar and have experience with MLOps tools such as DVC, MLFlow, Metaflow, Seldon, BentoML
• Preferably familiar and have experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Solid communication and collaboration skills.

We're building AI systems for a global audience. We are living in an era of AI transition - this new project team will be focusing on building applications to enable more real world impact and highest usage for the world.

This role is a global role with hybrid work arrangement - combining flexible remote work with in-office collaboration at our HQ. You'll work closely with regional teams across product, engineering, operations, infrastructure and data to build and scale impactful AI solutions.

Requirements

• Strong experience in transformers, deep learning, and fine-tuning methods (LoRA/QLoRA, SFT, distillation).
• Proficiency with PyTorch (preferred) or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Transition machine learning algorithms into production environments and integrate them with enterprise ecosystems, IoT devices and mobile platforms

Requirements

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who is technically proficient in programming to build machine learning systems and maintain high performing machine learning models in production. Designing machine learning systems requires that you, as the machine learning engineer, be able to frame business problems and design machine learning solutions that can effectively bring value to the company. You will prototype, implement and experiment with machine learning methods to solve business use cases. You will lead efforts to automate, architect and optimize machine learning processes and workflows. You will also help define, execute and enforce best practices for test-driven model development processes for the entire Data Science team in MoneyLion.

Key Responsibilities

• Able to frame and contextualize machine learning problems
• Research, build and design machine learning systems and models that can solve business problems
• Assess, understand and analyze data to select appropriate datasets for data modeling and testing
• Identify, prototype and implement appropriate machine learning algorithms and tools to improve our products
• Design, execute and monitor machine learning model experiments and metrics
• Perform statistical analysis to evaluate and prove business impact of modeling improvements
• Automate, architect and orchestrate machine learning processes and pipelines
• Monitor, optimize and maintain machine learning solutions in production
• Enrich existing machine learning libraries and model development frameworks to empower model development in MoneyLion
• Work with MLOps Engineers and Data Scientists to improve systems designs and architectures
• Enforce test-driven development and advocate engineering best practices to reduce technical debt in machine learning systems
• Develop tools and internal libraries to facilitate model governance over the machine learning development lifecycle

About You

• 3 - 5 years of experience in machine learning
• Strong mathematical, statistical or actuarial background
• Good programming knowledge and software engineering skills
• Must have hands-on experience in machine learning, predictive analytics and statistical modeling
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Adept at problem solving and troubleshooting using both textbook methods and novel viewpoints
• Proficient in Python and SQL

The mission

Drive the ML/DL research agenda for our client-classification engine and adjacent transaction risk control/anti-fraud scenarios across the trading chain . Take the best ideas to production—safely, fast, and cost-effectively. You’ll own the end-to-end experiment loop, from hypothesis → backtest → calibration → monitored rollout , so our routing and control decisions improve broker P&L, stability, and abuse prevention .

What you’ll do

• Be the key owner for modeling research execution for client classification and related risk/anti-fraud checks; frame hypotheses with Quants, align labels with RA, and run clean, time-aware evaluations.
• Broaden scope to risk/anti-fraud: apply the above methods to sibling controls along the transaction chain (toxic-flow & scalping patterns, slippage anomalies, stop-out risk, collusion/copy-trading, funding-rate/credit abuse, withdrawal risk); prioritize by expected P&L and operational impact.
• Own the experiment loop end-to-end (hypothesis → backtest → thresholding/calibration → monitored rollout) with MLflow tracking and clear readouts.
• Optimize for business impact: tune decisions for net P&L, and FP$/FN$; make trade-offs explicit (accuracy vs. latency/cost).
• Ship safely to production : shadow tests, canary releases, rollback plans, and lightweight guardrails aligned with risk policy.
• Keep models healthy: monitor drift, label delays, and calibration; set retrain triggers and maintain a steady weekly iteration cadence with Quants/RA.
• Communicate clearly: short design docs, experiment summaries, and release notes that non-ML stakeholders can act on.

Advanced (Plus)

• Time-series modeling of order streams (when it helps): comfortable prototyping and comparing simple sequence models (e.g., an LSTM or a light Transformer) against straightforward baselines; pick the simplest approach that moves the metric.

• 5+ years owning ML systems end-to-end with a track record of modeling research → production impact on large tabular/time-series problems.
• Strong PySpark/Spark SQL on Databricks and Python; excellent command of MLflow (or equivalent) , model registries, CI/CD, and jobs-as-code.
• Proven skill in experimental design : temporal cross-validation, leakage prevention, out-of-time backtests, label-delay handling, and calibration/thresholding.
• Comfortable optimizing for asymmetric costs and communicating trade-offs (precision/recall vs. P&L, latency vs. accuracy) to non-ML stakeholders.
• Clear, concise writing; able to own RFCs and implementation plans.

Nice to have

• Domain exposure to brokerage/CFD/FX/crypto routing, hedging, or dealer risk.
