You will be managing the full life circle of our road transportation network in the APAC region:
- Transportation Planning Management: Transportation planning Management & contract phase: from concept / specifications book - contract making to supplier awarding
- Supplier Mgmt. (before go-live and after go-live of a supplier): Management of the supplier implementation to ensure go-live and day-to-day operations quality management when supplier performance is not meeting to our MB expectations & specifications.
Transportation Planning Management:
- You will be the local representative in Kuala Lumpur of the Center of Competence (CoC) – road transportation for the region Asia/Pacific reporting to the global office-based at the GLC at Germersheim/Germany.
- You will be responsible of the road forwarder contract management of the approx. 10 logistics centres in the Asia Pacific region; in strong cooperation with the Head of Cluster Asia/Pacific located at Kuala Lumpur.
- As member of the Center of Competence (CoC) – road transportation for the region Asia/Pacific, you will be collaborating in the global set-up of road forwarders for the steering, monitoring and guidance model, definition of standards and operational tender processes and work closely together with and under guidance of CoC colleagues in Germany, Spain and N-America.
- You will coordinate the interface between the APAC office (and its regional logistics centres), the central GSP team in Germersheim and its extended teams in Barcelona, Spain and N-America
- You ensure the spare part logistics transportation cost saving initiative in APAC with approx. 5-10 transportation tenders per year and other transport related projects (e.g. central program of reduction of variable costs) together with the team in Germersheim and other central departments (planning/strategy, purchase, sales).
- You make sure that transportation projects/tenders are managed on time and on target and drive the day-to-day decision-making.
- You safeguard the overall project management in road transportation projects (project milestone quality gates, steering committees, working groups, alignment calls with the APAC logistics, escalation meetings with forwarders and the purchase department)
Supplier / Forwarder management :
- Support in the set-up & ramp-up of the GSP global forwarder quality management system within the APAC region for road transportation including forwarder potential analysis (OSA-onsite assessments, preventive & reactive actions/ audits & forwarder development programs)
- Enable forwarder quality mgmt. in qualification programs (such as auditing, implementation of quality tools & the establishment of a standard quality approach)
- Drive lessons-learned and training initiatives to permanently improve the project quality, supplier performance and qualification of relevant stakeholders (own staff or other APAC operations)
- Support in optimizing the planning and purchasing processes and in the development of new methods to accelerate processes and make them more flexible
- Ensure implementation and day-to-day 2nd level escalation initiatives towards freight suppliers to ensure MB specifications
Qualifications
Education:
- Master or bachelor degree in business engineering, business, transportation, purchase or equivalent.
Experience:
- Min 5 years related working experience in Automotive business, corporate business
- Experience in Supply Chain or Logistics Management
- Experience in Customer Relationship Management
- Experience in Team Management
- Ability to work with different cultures, languages & mindsets.
- Relevant work experience as Project Manager, Purchaser, Consultant and/or logistics manager in demanding line functions.
- Solid experience in logistics/supply chain management preferably with an international freight forwarder, industrial or trading company
- Auditor training (internal or external) e.g. VDA- or APQP-standard
- Analytical, strategic, and conceptual skills, strong communication and leadership skills (e.g.: conflict management etc.)
- Knowledge of Lean Management
