A day in the life of.

  1. Ensure the timely deployment of People development plan and assure the competencies of his/her team as per the agreed plan with PM (proper training inc. equipment, safety procedures, hygiene).
  2. Enforce strict compliance to standard operating procedures (SOPs) by all personnel within the shift.
  3. Coach employees to fulfill and exceed the requirements of the job through NCE approach.
  4. Ensure that the working areas are kept clean and are maintained in working order including all installations in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  5. Check and enforce personnel hygiene & safety e.g. protective clothing (uniform), shoe change & hand wash.
  6. Support in leading a continuous improvement/employee involvement culture through NCE approach. Drive for excellence and support operators and staff in their tasks.
  7. Provide timely feedback and coaching to individuals and team in order to develop them to their full potential and to achieve objectives in accordance with NCE guidelines.
  8. Ensure succession plans and development - coaching of direct reports (where applicable) including development of specific training.
  9. Ensure that there is an adequate distribution of skills to enable production plan to be achieved effectively.
  10. Ensure timely launch of new products to the Market as per agreed with the business unit.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the achievement of operation’s key priorities in Safety, Quality, Productivity, People Engagement, and Cost for the assigned production lines.
  • Lead, coach and engage the team to excel in set standards for operation and in the routines associated with 4M's+E (Man, Machine, Method, Material, Environment).
  • Control and manage the line to meet the KPIs & provide immediate corrective actions.
  • Promote continuous improvement and growth mindset and behaviors that have a positive impact on Safety Health Environment, Quality, and Productivity.
  • Ensure production's SOP are flawlessly executed; manufacturing conditions and quality control are met, troubleshoots, and resolves manufacturing deviations.
  • Plans and allocates plant resources to meet daily operation requirements, and within budget.
  • Work with Engineering team to manage all routine shift maintenance, scheduled maintenance, and line improvements.
  • Develop competencies of the team (Manufacturing Specialists and Associate) with Operational Excellence team and HR.
  • Establish and develop standards (SOP and expectations) for each process/section KPIV (key process input variable) and KPOV (key process output variable) for Production Specialists to follow and execute.
  • Utilize both internal and external resources (suppliers, experts, other factories, and corporate team) to ensure proper technical solutions are defined and implemented to eliminate root causes.
  • Supports new product development or new process implementation.
  • Ensure processes & equipment are compliant with all internal and external regulations.
  • Ensure Redzone and SAP TECO completion as per given timeline.
  • To initiate and complete at least ONE continuous improvement project (6 sigma/CI project etc) annually.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree in engineering/science related field.
  • With experience in managing manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Minimum FIVE years working experience in manufacturing environments with at least TWO years of experience in managerial roles in a medium or large scale of manufacturing company

The Business Line Manager – Ground Support, Southeast Asia is responsible for leading the strategic development, commercial execution, and operational performance of the Ground Support business across the Southeast Asia Sales Area, spanning both mining and tunnelling segments. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring market leadership, sustainable growth, and customer satisfaction in line with Sandvik’s regional and global objectives.

  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and ensure that your actions do not adversely affect the environment or the health and safety of anyone else in the workplace.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Sandvik Environment, Health & Safety Policy, and any reasonable instructions, procedures or systems of work that are given in the interest of providing safe work practices in the workplace and eliminating environmental harm.

  • The person in this position is committed to complying with the implementation of Sandvik global EHS policy and ISO Standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mining, Geotechnical, or a related technical field; a master's degree in business/management is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the mining or tunnelling industry, with at least 5 years in a commercial or business leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of ground support products, services, and their application in mining and civil infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in P&L management, sales strategy, and business development across Southeast Asia or similar emerging markets.
  • Experience in partner/channel management, especially with dealers, contractors, or service providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders across operations, service, supply chain, and commercial functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to convert customer needs into profitable business solutions.
  • Familiarity with EHS standards, ISO and compliance in operational environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (spoken and written); additional SEA regional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia as needed.
