Work you’ll do
- Understand the legal and commercial issues influencing Vietnamese businesses;
- Identify leads of through existing relationships and exhibits the ability to generate services through these contacts;

Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Law firm/ professional services/ commercial or financial services environment (International Law Firm experience is preferable)
- A university degree in Law
- Must have Lawyer Practice Certificates
- Strong understanding of Vietnamese market trends and their potential relevance to various client types
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, business acumen, persistence, and determination
- Excellent command of both verbal and written English
- Strong analytical, interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.

The Lead Counsel II is a senior level position responsible for providing legal guidance and thought leadership to the business. The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice, and guidance to the business.

Legal Supervisory- Providing all legal advice and legal support for onboarding of new relevant markets to Onehub Project team Malaysia. Reviewing and advising the project team on all related matters and the SLA Blueprint and DPOB and any matters related.
Advising on setting up of the new legal entity in Malaysia and registration thereof. Setting up the legal department within the entity and introducing the contract management process and all legal processes for the successful establishment of the legal entity.
3. Additional: Leading and Supporting the Legal function in MBFS HK
Providing support to MBFS Hong Kong- thru Service Level Agreement since January 2022, providing legal consultation to the entity from Malaysia for all related legal matters.
Scope of Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Strategy
-Lead, oversee and manage all legal and regulatory compliance matters and will be the principal legal advisor expert.
-Lead in safeguarding the Company’s legal interests, ensuring regulatory compliance, while mitigating legal risks and protecting the company's interests.
-Influencing diverse stakeholders and making legal decisions for Local management team in all its legal and regulatory affairs.
-Building and maintaining strong working relationships within the AAP region and HQ and understand business needs and strategic plans to provide proactive and valued advice for MY/SG cluster/MBFS HK and Onehub Asia.
-Develop legal department strategy for MY/SG Cluster/HK and Onehub and align with the regional business objectives and corporate strategies.
-Analyze complex legal issues to identify strategic and actionable solutions and communicates them effectively, mindful of the level of information required by the recipient(s).
2. Legal Consultant
-Defining, Leading and Advising the business/ Management/ Department Heads on broad range legal and regulatory matters.
-Influencing and leading discussions with management on different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
-Defining legal framework in all legal activities.
-Lead and oversees the delivery of training to management and personnel on legal issues affecting individual departmental activities and transactions.
-To provide legal advices and support in on Malaysia’s legal framework in areas such as Hire Purchase Law, Stamp Duties Act, Financial Act, Companies Act, Contract Act and Bankruptcy Act, Personal Data Law & Anti-Trust laws.
-Managing the legal risks and provide legal advice in respect of all corporate operational legal matters and ensure legal compliance.
-To conduct and keep abreast of any new laws and regulations applicable to the Company, initiate necessary change and impact to business operations.
-Reviews, negotiates and drafting all types of arrangements, contacts, legal documents and etc.
-Protection of tangible & in-tangible rights of the Company and sustained success in defending legal suits at optimum legal costs (in court).
3. Managing the interactions with external parties such as customers/regulators and external lawyers
-Additionally takes responsibility of ensuring that all allegations of legal misconduct are reported in a timely manner to the executive team to maintain integrity within the business.
- Instructs and assists external legal partners where necessary identifying potential legal risks and assessing the issues impacting legal risk, which ensures that all the business’s risk management approaches are viable.

4. Managing and Supervising Team of 2 Employees

Education & Work Experience
-Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Experience in professional firms and in-house experience are viewed as an advantage.
-Good working knowledge in corporate and commercial contract.
