We are hiring a Legal Associate to join our dynamic Retail team. This role will be responsible for supporting the legal function across various aspects of the business, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements across Asia region. The ideal candidate will possess solid legal knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-moving, deadline-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor, supplier, and partnership contracts
- Manage contract life cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry-specific requirements
- Advise internal stakeholders on compliance obligations, coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary
- Assist in managing disputes, including supporting documentation gathering, settlement negotiations, and liaising with external counsel
- Identify potential legal risks across the business and propose actionable solutions to mitigate them
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, HR, Operations) to ensure risk is addressed proactively
- Support corporate secretarial functions, including preparation of resolutions, board minutes, and filings to regulatory bodies
- Ensure all corporate documents and processes adhere to internal governance policies and statutory requirements
- Provide clear and concise legal advice to diverse teams, including senior management
Requirements
- Minimum 2–4 years’ post-qualification experience, preferably in a corporate environment
- Must possesses LL.B or equivalent law degree
- Strong understanding of commercial law, contract law, and regulatory compliance in retail across Asia region

- Perform compliance tax services for clients engagements in varied industries
- Utilize tax software to prepare and process returns

Work you’ll do
- Perform compliance tax services for clients engagements in varied industries
- Utilize tax software to prepare and process returns
- Conduct compliance and reporting, tax management, risk and control assessment
- Research and consult on various tax matters
- Contact clients and officers from Inland Revenue Board, Ministry of Finance and other government agencies
