In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. - Ensuring that automation and control solutions engineering and commissioning for the allocated marine system projects efficiently and cost- effectively executed, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements
- Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.
- Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
- Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.
- Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.

Qualifications for the role
- You are highly skilled in design & engineering of automation system for Marine and Offshore projects.
- Ability to demonstrate your knowledge in ABB PLC series, 800XA System, various communication standards & protocols, S/W revision tracking tools, OPC & Networking.
- Possess an enhanced knowledge in commissioning of Power and Energy Management System (PEMS), ESS Solution, IAS, Remote Control System (RCS), Enhanced Powerplant protection system (EPPS) is desired.
- Degree or Masters in relevant Engineering discipline with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge on Marine Systems, classification society requirement for automation system, commissioning & trouble shooting is desired.
- You are passionate about collaborating and delivering high level of customer satisfaction.
- You are at ease communicating English.

We are currently based at KL Eco City, Malaysia.
Overall Job Purpose
The OT (Operation Technology) Lead Engineer is working in billion-dollar scale projects to deliver the Digitalization Strategy for the Facility. Digital innovation requires Operational Technology (OT) systems, such as ICSS, Vendor Control Systems, Marine Packages through to Telecommunication etc., to interact and connect with Enterprise Information Technology systems. With OT-IT integration, the data collected by physical equipment, vendor systems and devices can be used to identify problems or increase efficiencies.
You will be focusing on connecting a previously isolated Systems and Equipment within OT network to the Enterprise IT environment and coordinating the data and information use into Advanced Analytics, AI, Automation, and other application to improve Business and Operational processes.
In addition, you will assist with the development and sustainment of robust processes for data handling / governance, enabling the management of tactical and strategic interactions between Digital team and other business units across the organization. Leads Engineers and Senior Engineers in the team.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, lead and manage OT team resources by identifying the work assignment for each team member by clarifying responsibilities and deliverables of each individual.
- Advocate, integrate and improve on existing technology change management process.
- Develop, implement, and troubleshoot interfaces between the Business Systems and OT Networks.
- Assist with Scoping, Development and Management of OT projects.
- Assist with Hardware Lifecycle planning and standardization.
- Participates in project design reviews to ensure consistency with required business outcomes.
- Analyse Operation Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) networks for opportunities to improve integration, network architecture and security.
- Provide architectural advice and oversight and input into selected Operational Application implementation projects
- Design, document and deliver technical solutions to integrate FPSO OT Technology within company and client enterprise architectures.
- Communicate effectively with, and between the immediate team, business subject matter experts, developers, analysts, engineers, end users of systems and management.
- Report to Operation Technology Lead in Digital & Analytics department to support global initiatives across projects and phases
- Interact with Tech Team in Digital & Analytics department to support building digital infrastructure and solutions in-house and with 3rd party
- More than 5 years’ experience of control system “hands-on” design in oil & gas industry.
- Broad understanding of Technology Infrastructure and Applications to support FPSO Operations.
- Understanding of Industrial Communications protocols.
- Understanding of Network design and infrastructure used in both OT and IT realms.
- Having awareness of problems for conventional control system design and/or rooms for the improvement with Digital techniques.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field of Engineering (With a strong knowledge of Logic and/or Programming Language/s)
- Understanding of Cyber Security standards (IEC, ISO, NIST or equivalent). Certified competencies highly regarded.
- Understanding of FPSO ICSS and Vendor Control Systems.
- Understanding of Operational Challenges for Integrating and managing OT systems.
- Understanding of Data structures, Data conditioning and manipulation.
- Understanding of Virtualization, Server equipment and SAN Solutions (either in Use, Management or Design)
- Understanding of EPCI Engineering Development Tools and Lifecycle Information.
- Good knowledge of System’s Engineering approaches, tools and their application

Summary
Systems & Applications Design is an interdisciplinary field of engineering that works with cross functional teams of other engineers, customers, supply chain and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development.
The Lead Engineer, Systems/Applications designs, integrates, and manages complex systems over their life cycles. They are engineering leads engaged in issues such as requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, testing and evaluation, maintainability and many other disciplines necessary for successful system design, development, implementation, and ultimate decommission. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Design, develop and implement technical solutions in two or more technical areas. Lead smaller projects and may coordinate with other engineers including reviews of their work.
- Review and interpret customer documentation, conduct appropriate research, analysis and experiments with minimal direction from senior staff.
- Create technical proposals (solution and timelines) based on requirements.
- Research systems ideas and draw up plans for these systems
- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. Architecture of solution: Divide up tasks for various engineering teams to execute taking into consideration requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, testing and evaluation, maintainability and many other disciplines necessary for successful system design and field support.
- Test, simulate and measure (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
- Solve complex problems
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and interpret data and information
- Recommend system modifications
- Create reports and documentation

Job Description- Experience with Ignition, Keware, Modbus, with a minimum of 8 years working on SCADA systems.
- Preferably worked in industries such as oil & gas, construction, pharma, semiconductor/electronics, or other large industries involving design, development, and deployment of SCADA systems.
- Develop and configure data acquisition systems, tag structures, and historian integrations using Ignition modules.
- Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, etc.), ERP/MES platforms, and databases.
- Proven experience with Python, SQL, and industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, etc.).
- Preferably certified as Inductive Automation Certified Ignition Core / Gold / Perspective Developer.

Role OverviewAs a DevOps Lead, you will be responsible for driving the design, implementation, and management of robust DevOps processes and pipelines to ensure smooth integration, delivery, and deployment across all environments. You will serve as the key bridge between development, operations, and quality assurance teams, ensuring collaboration and efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle. In this role, you will take ownership of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and automation, while ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Your leadership will also extend to mentoring team members, evaluating new tools and technologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers to achieve team goals and drive innovation.
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable CI/CD pipelines for seamless software delivery.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for consistent and robust software delivery.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient large-scale & highly available services.
- Architect and manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Monitor cloud resources, optimize performance, and control operational costs.
- Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack). Conduct root cause analysis and drive resolution for critical issues in production systems. Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless and efficient software delivery.
- Implement DevSecOps best practices to ensure secure coding, deployments, and operations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., RMIT, SOC2).
- Enhance the incident management process to identify, mitigate, and address reliability risks.
- Provide on-call support during critical periods. Drive innovation by introducing new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve DevOps practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, Argo CD, Spinnaker).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Advanced scripting and programming skills (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and networking concepts.
- Experience with serverless architectures and tools (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk). Familiarity with database operations (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud-native database services.
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., RMIT, SOC2).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in Agile teams.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Passion for learning and adopting new technologies.
