Responsibilities

  • Perform lab tests required to maintain quality of process streams, finished products, and discharged wastes
  • Ensure all data are accurate and details of all tests are recorded and retained
  • Compare test results against targets, norms, and/or specifications and liaise with the appropriate personnel accordingly
  • Prepare and standardize all necessary reagents in accordance with specified methods
  • Prepare quality reports and maintain records of all test results
  • Prepare summary reports on non-routine samples, test cross-check programs and report on minor technical experiments to troubleshoot plant problems
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure they are in good and accurate operating condition
  • Maintain equipment/test under statistical control through SQC (Statistical Quality Control Systems for Historical Data)
  • Maintain lab inventory and lab procurement system
  • Observe safety rules and good housekeeping practices; conduct safety talk
  • Carry-out basic troubleshooting and calibration of lab testing equipment

Requirements

  • Diploma in Technical related
  • Preferably 1-2 years’ experience in Laboratory related work
  • Possess good communication skills with good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Possess valid driver's license
  • Willing to work in a shift cycle
  • Willing to be based at Port Dickson Refinery

Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze samples in accordance with established testing procedures.
  2. Ensure timely analysis of plant process quality control samples, final products, and export products samples, with test reports completed within the time frame.
  3. Conduct quality testing on feedstock and incoming plant chemicals.
  4. Perform laboratory activities in strict compliance with guidelines.
  5. Prepare reagents, laboratory working standards, and standard solution standardization.
  6. Carry out sample retention and retrieval of retention samples when required.
  7. Undertake any task or assignment requested by superiors and prioritize works assigned.
  8. Perform basic equipment care of laboratory testing equipment as per maintenance manual to ensure equipment reliability, and report any defects requiring superior’s attention.
  9. Verify and intermediate check of equipment according to schedule.
  10. Scrutinize laboratory analysis results and ensure their validity before reporting.
  11. Participate in Quality Assurance Testing programs (Proficiency Testing).
  12. Prepare control charts for interpretation of quality control results.
  13. Work safely and adhere strictly to all safety practices.
  14. Perform regular inspections of all safety equipment in the laboratory (e.g., eye washers, emergency showers, fire blankets, first aid kits) to ensure all are in good condition at all times.
  15. Check and record the stock of chemicals and apparatus and initiate replenishment.
  16. Carry out housekeeping of the laboratory at all times.

  1. Candidate must possess at least SPM or equivalent (in science stream with credits in science and mathematics), or a Diploma in Science.
  2. Good command of spoken and written English. Added advantage for Mandarin speaking.
