Responsibilities

• Assist to collect sample, product testing, FFB quality checking and calibration process.

• Able to handle Belt Press operation and Effluent Plant Laboratory.
• To participate in Mill Audits.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/ STPM in laboratory skills or equivalent.
• Able to speak and write fluently in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Fast learner, independent and self-motivated.
• Must be able to travel for Audit Visits.

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Quality & Laboratory Supervisor to lead and oversee the implementation of quality management systems and the daily operations of their internal laboratory. This is a critical role that ensures products meet stringent quality and regulatory standards while maintaining smooth and efficient laboratory processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong leadership capabilities, and can work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Oversee daily QA/QC operations to ensure raw materials, in-process components, and finished products meet quality standards.
• Implement and maintain effective quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or relevant standards.
• Develop, update, and control quality documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, inspection checklists, CAPA reports, NCRs, and calibration records.
• Lead root cause investigations and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
• Participate in internal audits and act as the main liaison for external/customer audits and quality inspections.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and quality processes.

Laboratory Management

• Manage and supervise the laboratory team and ensure adherence to established lab protocols and testing procedures.
• Oversee all laboratory operations including equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, sample testing, test result validation, and data accuracy.
• Ensure laboratory compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain traceability and control of lab samples, test records, and reports.
• Coordinate interdepartmental requests for testing and provide timely analytical support for production and quality assurance.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in QA/QC and laboratory management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other recognized quality systems.
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments, calibration, and chemical or material testing methods.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and cross-functional coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; able to interpret test results and propose effective actions.
• Proficient in both English and Mandarin (spoken & written) to liaise with internal teams and overseas counterparts (e.g., HQ in China).
• High attention to detail, good documentation practices, and ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Willing to work in Banting, Selangor.

The aerospace industry relies on high-performance polymers for critical applications such as structural components, coatings, and adhesives. With increasing demand for sustainable and locally sourced materials, there is a growing need to explore alternative, bio-based production routes for these polymers.

In this internship, the student will conduct desktop research on current technologies for replacing conventional raw materials with renewable, bio-derived alternatives, and contribute to experimental design. The student will also gain hands-on laboratory experience by performing lab-scale synthesis of the target polymer and characterizing the final product in comparison with commercially available equivalents.

Objectives

1. To investigate and perform the synthesis of a bio-based polymer, summarizing and outlining the key steps in its production process.

2. To monitor and analyze the chemical reaction, and to characterize the final product, comparing the findings with relevant literature data.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge in organic chemistry and chemical engineering principles.
• Prior laboratory experience, particularly with glassware setups and GC analysis, is preferred.
• Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work autonomously and conduct weekly progress reporting to supervisor.

• Marketing Plan: You will be accountable for Lab Solutions CLS product line strategy. Create and execute Marketing Plans that aligns with global and APJ commercial strategy.
