Overview
NCIS is establishing a new Stem Cell Therapy Hub (SCTH) as part of expansion of its Specialised Programmes and to become a Reference Centre of Excellence. We are looking for a Quality Control (QC) Team Lead for the QC department in the organisation.
The candidate will be responsible to oversee the Quality Control designated function which can include these areas - Raw Material Testing, In-process testing, Final Product Testing, Analytical Science and Technology, Environmental and QC Systems, for NCIS Specialised Programmes (specifically Cellular Therapy and Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant) and other provided services.
Job Responsibilities*
- Responsible to lead and direct the assigned Quality Control designated function.
- As Subject Matter Expert in assigned QC systems/processes/equipment to oversee the implementation and management of systems/processes.
- Owns QC related polices and procedure of the assigned QC processes which include product testing, materials testing, environmental monitoring, method development/qualification/validation, lab investigations, stability testing, LIMS, lab equipment qualification and/or calibration.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned activities which include testing, method development/qualification/validation, equipment qualification or computer systems validation as per agreed lead-time/milestones.
- Initiates/Reviews/approves procedures, documents, records, deviations, investigations, corrective action/preventive actions, changes controls and gaps assessment associated with the QC area(s) assigned.
- Ensure QC personnel are qualified and trained to perform assigned tasks.
- Support product/materials testing, methods qualification/validation activities, equipment qualification activities or other QC related activities as an executor, reviewer and/or approver.
- Ensure products are tested and assessed per applicable current GxP and regulations.
- Ensures that facilities, equipment, materials, processes and procedures that are applicable to QC comply to applicable, current GxP and regulations.
- Manage performance and development of direct reports to ensure achievement of organizational goals.
- Supports improvement initiatives, programs and projects driven from the Quality Management System.
- Escalates quality and compliance risks to QC and QA Management.
Note: Other responsibilities may be assigned by Head of Quality, or senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor or higher, in Science, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent, with preference of more than 6 years of relevant work experience in Quality Assurance Lead role in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology/medical device/healthcare industry, preferable with increasing people management responsibilities.
- Extensive knowledge in Quality Management System concepts
- Extensive knowledge in regulations and industrial guidance especially for stem cell / cell and gene therapy
- Excellent communication and able to engage stakeholders effectively from different functional units
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skill are of advantage.

Overview*
The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing product manufacturing and interpreting product quality assurance testing results in the department. He/She is also responsible to undertake related laboratory activities in order to ensure smooth operation and provide quality laboratory services to our customers, both internal and external.
Job Responsibilities*
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
General
- Participate in the reception of cellular products and rejection of those that are unsuitable for further processing.
- Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory protocols.
- Ensure that unsatisfactory values are reported to appropriate personnel
- Resolve queries from customers.
- Report procedure deviations and adverse incidents to the supervisor.
- Perform, record and interpret results of internal and external quality assurance procedures and take corrective action where indicated.
- Undertake simple preventative maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and perform simple troubleshooting in the event of malfunction.
- Comply with laboratory inventory management procedures. Notify appropriate laboratory personnel when test kits, reagents or other supplies should be re-ordered.
- Comply with good laboratory practice as set out by the International Laboratory Accreditation Program and Singapore regulatory agencies such as the Medical Audit & Accreditation Unit.
- Comply with all requirements of the Institutional as well as Departmental Safety Manual.
- Comply with Institutional IT Security and Data Governance
- Comply with Institutional and National PDPA Regulation
- Keep current with new instrumentation, techniques and procedures by attending/participating in appropriate workshops, seminars and in-service education classes.
- Assist with the conduct of in-service education and continuing education classes.
- Assist with coaching of trainees and new staff in laboratory procedures.
- Guide Laboratory Technicians, Clerical staff and Health Attendants in their work when required.
- Perform shift duties as required.
- Promptly carry out the instruction(s) of senior staff with regard to work procedures and duties.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (20%)
- Undertake back-up procedures in the event of emergencies such as loss of electrical power and information system crash.
- Participate and contribute to project teams as required.
- Participate in laboratory administrative work such as filing, processing of deliveries orders and invoices.
- Evaluate new laboratory test methodologies and instrumentation.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements*
- BSc in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
- Good laboratory skills.
- Above average dexterity with good general health and no colour blindness.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good planning and organizational skills

Perform routine histological tests in the Department of Pathology for use in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Perform reception of laboratory specimens, assign charge codes and rejection of those that are unacceptable according to rejection criteria.
- Assist pathologist during trimming and evaluation of specimens.
- Perform various technical functions including processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and complex staining, mounting and labeling of prepared slides and block check.

Job Requirements:
- A PhD (or equivalent) in Genetic Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Mendelian Randomization methods, including familiarity with MR-Base or other relevant tools.
- Expertise in R programming and experience with statistical packages (e.g., TwoSampleMR, survival, tidyverse, Bioconductor).
- Experience with handling and analyzing large genomic datasets, particularly GWAS, WGS, and PRS data.
- Experience with multi-ancestry genomic studies or integrating different omics datasets.
- Knowledge of genome-wide imputation methods and quality control procedures for genomic data.
- Exposure to machine learning approaches in genomics.
- Knowledge of survival analysis techniques (e.g., Kaplan-Meier, Cox proportional hazards models).
- Familiarity with DNAnexus or other cloud-based genomic analysis platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of scientific publications.
