  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as a strategic partner to Corporate and Regional finance teams.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for General Ledger-related matters enterprise-wide.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are preferred.
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or auditing, with a minimum of 3 years in managerial roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS/MFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience working with or within U.S. public companies.
  • Proficient in ERP and accounting software such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and to drive change across teams and functions.

Description of Duties:
Operations:

  • Respond to and solve enquiries from Country Finance Manager
  • Work with Local Finance team to understand local activities, prepare trial balance and investigate trial balance account fluctuations
  • Prepare and ensure adequate supporting documentation of journal entries for the financial closing in accordance to Group Accounting policies
  • Handle fixed assets creation/disposal, General Ledger, Reconciliation, Balance Sheet, P&L Account in SAP system and perform monthly depreciation run
  • Preparation and review of monthly financial reports: P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow movements, management report, tax report and inventory reconciliation
  • Prepare for bank reconciliation, Interco reconciliation and follow up on the unreconciled items
  • Ensure adherence to strict month end and year end deadlines
  • Undertake any accounting & reporting requirements and ad-hoc duties or projects as requested

Compliance:

  • Support internal audits by working closely with Local Finance team
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and company procedures to ensure integrity of financial information
  • Ensure adequate follow up on issues identified during external and internal audit

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and articulate improvement areas across processes
  • Involve in process implementation, automation, and standardization of R2R activities

Transition:

  • Active participation in the transition of Country GL processes into shared services team including work shadowing and Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) documentation preparations
  • Active contribution to ensure operation readiness by Go-Live date

Overview

Huntsman Corporation is now looking for a dynamic individual as an ASSC General Ledger Accountant.

The General Ledger Accountant will be supporting the Accounting General Ledger Team Lead on global type of journal entries and harmonizing the journal process globally.

Responsibilities

What skills and experiences are we looking for?
  • Degree with 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in helping to managed change, implementing new procedures and re-engineering processes.
  • A strategic and analytical mindset.
  • Knowledge in US GAAP Accounting and/ or IFRS
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel and Power Tools is a must.
