Application Engineer
Responsible for providing pre-sales application consultancy to the sales team, with a focus on Electric Automation. Takes commercial considerations fully into account when proposing solutions. Proactively drives Automation business expansion by uncovering potential and actively
identifying opportunities. Assists customers in selecting and acquiring EA products suitable for their applications. Responsible for pre-sales design of solutions and conceptual ideas for custom solutions prior to handover to engineering team. Accountable for end2end process from early solution concept until initial installation at customer site.
Key Accountabilities
Impact on Business
- Provides technical expertise/consultancy within the sales process and guides to a system concept solution for Electric Automation and other technologies/product lines, according to the local market needs.
- Defines the electrical and mechanical design of a solution, derived from the requirement specification defined together with the customer, with focus on standard products.
- Provides feasible application solution proposals, based on deep technical product knowledge.
- Performs feasibility studies by means of sample setups, simulations or calculations
- Provides remote and onsite advisory during after-sales commissioning activities
- Supports Sales Engineer in defining the right price and conditions for a solution based on the value add
- Performs any ad hoc tasks been assigned by Line Manager from time to time
- Assists in training initiatives to train the Sales Engineers in relevant engineering tools and newly launched EA products.
- Drives further growth in Electric Automation and proactively looks for new opportunities.
- Utilizes Festo Experience Center network to win new opportunities and increase customer loyality
- Holds end2end accountability for supported opportunities from identification phase until installation.
- Presents proposed solutions to the customers.
- Shares experience and know-how within the Application Engineering team and other internal parties.
- Supports colleagues and customers in other S6 countries through its application expertise virtually or on-site.
- Ensures close collaboration with other teams
- Bachelor Degree in Mechatronic , Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
- Diploma can be considered based on work experience
- 3 - 4 years of relevant business experience necessary.

Bachelor or above in Biomedical Science or related subject
Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or related commercial field in the same capacity in an international organization.
Strong logical thinking capability and analytical skills;
High level integrity and commitment to work and self-initiative;
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel – 40% travel within Malaysia
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Proficiency in English and Malay. Additional language skills are a plus.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Clinical Chemistry, Immunology and Lab Automation

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in any banking functional areas such as payments, loans, treasury management, or accounting and work on business requests related to core banking domain.
Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements, identify gaps against current functionalities and apply systems thinking in solution design in core banking domain.
- Partner with Users, Infrastructure Team, Architects, and other Technical Leads to ensure solution design complies with enterprise design principles, security and control standards.
- Prepare and maintain functional solution documents.
- Review the system specifications created to ensure no missing design or lack of consideration.
- Configure and/or develop based on specifications and perform unit testing to ensure specifications are met.
- Support smooth rollout of enhancements, manage pre- and post-implementation activities and develop processes with operations teams.
- Provide analytical support and execute requirement analysis to support system enhancement, fixes, and emergency application changes deployment.
- Perform upstream and downstream solution impact.
- Manage & coordinate across different application teams to manage technical dependencies of the solutions.
- Author requirements, epics, user stories and tasks aligned with user/customer/market/developer needs.
- Remain open and alert to new technology opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in application development.
- Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills built on industry experience in technology development.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills- problem structuring, logical thinking and story-lining essential.
- High influencing and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with multi-functional teams.
- Has keen awareness of emerging technologies shaping the digital banking landscape.
- Knowledge of coding languages like Java, Python.
- Familiarity with Linux systems, containerization, databases, APIs and system design concepts.
- Can deliver complex systems in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience in Agile practices like Scrum or Kanban, with strong desire to deliver on time with high level of integrity, flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with senior developers to analyse user requirements and system design specifications.
- Write and review testable, efficient and maintainable code.
- Actively participate in the UAT process with the key stakeholders, project managers and head of department.
- Contribute and maintain the application release documentation and adopt modern version control strategies.
- Contribute to the application’s user guide documentation and technical documentation.
- Investigate and resolve any application bugs as reported by all users.
- Manage the expectations of tight deadlines and critical milestones ensuring the application is delivered to satisfaction.
- Work closely with the different team members to troubleshoot issues, talk to business users and extract data from the application via the backend to provide to the users.
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets
- The candidate must possess at least a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with at least 1 years’ experience for hands-on development.
- Strong analytical and logical skills to troubleshoot and debug complex source codes.
- Good programming skills in React Typescript, C# .NET core and MS SQL. Knowledge of VB .NET knowledge would be a plus.
- Able to deliver quality work under strict deadlines.
- Experience with the use of Visual Studio and Telerik controls is good to have.
- Experienced with version control technologies like Git and/or Azure DevOps.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in an agile environment.
- Able to communicate and present ideas and concepts in English. Communication and transparency is of utmost importance.
