We are currently recruiting an accomplished professional to assume the pivotal role of Network Engineering Lead. - Malaysian citizen.
- Obtain a pass in Bahasa Melayu, including an oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science/ information technology or equivalent which is recognized by the Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
- CCNA/ CCNP or any other equivalent certifications are an added advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in network engineering/architecture across LAN/WAN/DC/cloud environments, with at least 2 years in technical leadership roles.

Functional Description

The role of Senior Network Engineer is to support the IT operational activities of Project Infrastructure, supporting the Operation Manager to achieve the agreed SLAs as defined by the respective Master Service Agreement(s).
- Support all Cisco Network devices and Checkpoint & Fortigate Firewalls, F5/Foundary/Radware load balacers, DNS, SDN, IPAM, Wireless,Tacacs and VPN
- Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services.
- Able to rotate on 24x7 and to be on standby on a 12-hour shift basis
- Perform regular monitoring and maintenance of the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Comply to ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operation e.g. Change, Incident, Service Request & problem management.
- Respond promptly to Network incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated
- Collaborate with network administrators and engineers to design and implement network upgrades, expansions, and changes, ensuring minimal disruption to network services.
- Maintain network documentation, including network diagrams configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network equipment procurement, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

- Experience in Router, Switches, LAN/WAN is a plus
- Strong technical competency with recognized professional certifications in either Network & Security or Systems domain
- Ability to work on 12-hour shift or 24x7 whenever needed

You will be responsible for solution design, implementation, and operational support of Abbott’s global Wide Area Network (WAN) services. This position will serve as the technical lead for projects involving complex planning for all Abbott network infrastructure including detailed design creation, proposals, analysis, project preparation/implementation/support and troubleshooting complex networks. Responsible for timely interaction with customers of the platform, peer technologists, and senior management. You will have experience in WAN and advanced knowledge of routing protocols with a focus in SDWAN. The candidate will also have general knowledge of Data Center Networking, Routing, Switching, Wireless Access, Firewall Controls, Load Balancing, Security Infrastructure, Remote Access Connectivity Solutions (Cisco AnyConnect, Zscaler ZPA) & Network Segmentation technologies.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Design large scale enterprise WAN, SD-WAND and other network related hardware.
- Design and implement Data Center technologies like VXLAN, Cisco ACI
- Design and continuously improve network monitoring and observability capabilities.
- Troubleshoot WAN, SD-WAN, LAN, WLAN including routers, and other network related hardware.
- Design and management of core services such as DHCP, DNS, IP address management and load balancing
- Define requirements in support of budget plans and make recommendations for ways to improve performance, reduce costs, and meet business requirements.
- Defines the architecture and hardware requirements for project proposals.
- Design, execute, support day to day service requests.
- Lead large scale network refresh projects as well as divisional expansion projects.
- Design and manage network capacity and performance.
- Evaluates and identify opportunities for network performance and functionality improvement within the enterprise network.
- Participate in the development efforts to bring automation into the network environment.
- Responsible for compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Successfully negotiate technical design and deployment strategy with key stakeholder and consumers of the service.
- Serve as the platform technical subject matter expert and provide consulting support to the business and end-user organizations.
- Partner with Abbott’s Cybersecurity organization in conducting security and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and adherence to best practices.
- Integrates technical expertise with communication, leadership, and business skills in a team environment.
- Proficient in the following protocols and technologies: EIGRP OSFP BGP GRE IPSEC MPLS STP HSRP OMP NAT and VPN.
- Responsible for compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, documentation, and industry best practices.
