**Job Overview:**
The Associate Subsea Engineer will be supporting FEED/EPCIC projects with design and installation engineering/analysis activities related SURF activities such as rigid & flexible pipeline installation, umbilical installation, spools/jumper, Risers, Subsea structure installations and other subsea installation analysis related tasks in a junior level. This position is within the Installation Analysis team and requires someone who is analytically minded with strong engineering skills to perform numerically intensive calculations. Learns the content and application of relevant industry codes, standards, guidelines, design methods and analysis.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Perform engineering analyses (Static/Quasi-static/Dynamic), and calculations on basic engineering tasks related to SURF Installation Engineering.
+ Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring.
+ Prepare clear and accurate engineering calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
+ Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others.
+ Assist senior engineers with preparation of technical reports, design calculations, engineering analysis and interface with third parties including subcontractors and verification bodies.
+ Required to attend and prepare for project progress meetings and departmental meetings.
+ Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements.
+ Keep the Area Lead/ Lead Engineer apprised of all activities, progress and concerns.
+ Develop an awareness of costs related to own work.
+ Develop basic understanding of McDermott's business and customers it serves.

**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural / Mechanical) from recognized Institution

+ Entry Level position or less than 3 years' experience related to Installation Analysis Engineering for Offshore/Subsea projects.
+ Exposure to analysis packages for Subsea Installation Analysis (Eg. OrcaFlex, OFFPIPE, Pipelay)
+ Good working skill with Engineering Software such as Mathcad/Mathcad prime and basic working knowledge of AutoCAD,
+ Good knowledge in programing and scripting skills (Python or VBA ) is an advantage.

+ Strong working knowledge of many design techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards codes and guidelines as applicable for onshore and offshore construction
+ Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society

+ Assist procurement personnel in procuring discipline equipment, materials, and services; ensuring that work produced complies with Customer objectives and procedures Procurement assistance includes preparing, reviewing, and (as Lead Engineer) approving requisitions, evaluating technical quotations, and preparing queries, compiling bid tabulations and recommendations, preparing purchase requisitions, and coordinating with Procurement to expedite vendor documents, as directed by Discipline Lead Engineer
+ Assist in updating weight report based on receipt of vendor information
+ Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary
+ Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve design verification through single-discipline check /inter-discipline check (IDC)
+ Provide technical support to all fabrication queries, including identifying defect/rectification requirements
+ Keep the Discipline Manager and Project Management Team apprised of all activities and concerns, technical, budgetary and manpower related
+ Assist in providing inputs for actual, planning, and forecasting progress reports including associated productivity
+ Check final subcontractor and vendor data manuals to ensure that all requested data has been received and approved
+ Present issues and problems to Customers in a timely manner and assist the Lead Engineer in negotiating resolution in accordance with project and company requirements
+ Perform (as required) Technical Quality Audit reviews in accordance with MDR Global Procedures
+ Assist Lead engineer with responses to Customers and other agencies (such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc.) on their review and approval
+ Capture lessons learned and enter into MDR's Lessons Learned system
+ Guide less experienced engineers on MDR and Discipline procedures, standards, worksheets, auditors, third parties, etc.) on their review and approval
+ Supervise and guide assigned engineers and coordinate with Lead Designers for Discipline engineering and design deliverables
+ Responsible for the engineering integrity of the assigned work area
+ Monitor costs of own work processes
+ Assist in the maintenance of departmental technical guidelines and standard calculation notes
+ Participate in development and maintenance of Global Procedures, Software, and Standards
+ May participate in standards development committees or task groups such as API
+ Develop communication and presentation skills (e.g., write technical papers, participate in conferences and/or seminars, present design solutions, and/or present topics at 'lunch and learn'; etc.)
+ Identify and provide training to staff in specific techniques and proprietary software
+ Provide information on employee performance to the Discipline Manager
+ Assist the Discipline manager in interviewing job applicants
+ Perform, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve Pipeline Installation engineering designs, analyses, evaluations, calculations, and procedures for loadout, transportation, and installation (including installation aids):
+ Submarine pipelines
+ Risers
+ Spools
+ PLETS and manifolds
+ Cables
+ Perform, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve Structural Installation engineering designs, analyses, evaluations, calculations, and procedures for loadout, transportation, and installation (including installation aids) of offshore structures, including barge upgrades/modifications
+ When acting as Lead engineer, in addition:
+ Act as project-based discipline point of contact in communications and meetings with customer counterparts
+ Ensure substantive communications are documented
+ Prepare bids and projects discipline engineering budget and execution plans
+ Identify project staff needs based on knowledge of individual engineer's skill sets and provide requests to the discipline manager
+ Plan, organize, and assign tasks, responsibilities, and manhour budgets to the discipline team, and verify tasks are completed within budgets
+ Plan discipline deliverable schedule/register compliant with the overall execution plan
+ Prepare work forecasts identifying change management plans, corrective action, and real-time schedule
+ Provide discipline inputs for actual, planning, and forecasting progress reports including associated productivity
+ Alert the project team of any deviation from the scope or a need for a change order
+ Monitor KPI measurement results and take corrective action as necessary to improve Discipline performance, including performance at interfaces with others
+ Coordinate with other Discipline Lead Engineers and Designers to ensure timely receipt of necessary design inputs
+ Review and approve requisitions, technical quotation evaluations and queries, compiled bid tabulations and recommendations, and purchase requisitions: and coordinate with Procurement to expedite vendor documents as required
+ Lead the Discipline team during project audits (internal, Customer and third-party technical audits) and Design reviews
+ Review comments from customers & other agencies on documents and drawings produced by the team and resolve and give guidance on their update and incorporation
+ Assist the Discipline manager in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and manpower planning
+ Anticipate project engineering needs and plan accordingly
+ Coordinate with vendor for discipline-managed/produced items
+ Assist the Discipline manager and Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager in the Performance Evaluation of project team members

**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering (Master's is a preference)
+ 15-20 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant predominantly performing construction and installation design
+ Detailed knowledge of design techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the theory, content, and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable Knowledgeable in project coordination and execution skills
+ Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society

**Job Description**
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Perform analysis on the assembly product to check the solderability integrity on fresh assembly or after environmental stress product. Define the FA flow for each FA case. Generate FA report and assist teams for root-causing of defect/s. Develop new FA process, method and capability for new product and new technologies. Structure project plans and manages cost-effective execution of tasks. Maintain lab in quality system compliance.
**Qualifications**
**Required:**
+ Bachelor's degree and/or master's in electrical & Electronic or Material Engineering with minimum 5 years' experience in failure analysis
**Preferred:**
+ Familiar with IC and passive component structure and defect.
+ Familiar with semiconductor and SMT assembly process and technology
+ Familiar with memory product technology and structure
+ Understand memory product test process and methodology
+ Good communication, presentation skills and teamwork spirit.
+ Fluent in English speaking, reading and technical FA report writing
+ Previous FA experience in IC or memory devices is preferred
**Skills:**
+ Expert in FA instruments and able to apply advanced technical principle to complete complex tasks, including 3D X-ray, Ion Milling, CSAM, SEM/EDX, EBSD, chemical decapsulation, TDR, curve tracer analysis, optical microscopes, FIB and TEM.
+ Expert in solder joint and solder microstructure characteristics analysis.
+ Technical report writing and presentation skills, ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.
