Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, this role will be developing the Maxis’ investor relations strategy by providing insight to management and cross-functional teams and influencing corporate decision-making through quantitative and qualitative analyses.
Your primary objective is to educate and consistently update investors and external sell-side analysts on the Maxis’ financial and operational results to achieve a fair stock valuation to create long-term shareholder value.
- Manage, improve and build trusted relationships of the Company and institutional investors and sell-side analysts by providing clear, accurate and confident communications
- Identify investors who are underweight Maxis’ securities and develop a strategy to target those investors
- Leading the quarterly earnings cycle process, ensuring the preparation of our earnings script and press release, investor conferences and road shows, potential analyst Q&A, regulatory filings and other related materials in conjunction with Finance, Legal, Communications and outside parties are in orderly manner
- Provide feedback and insight to the C-Suite, Senior Management as well as operations management on investor sentiment and industry conditions, and the expected reaction from the investment community from proposed transactions, corporate planning/budgeting and operating results
- Lead discussions with sell-side analysts to understand their points of view and demonstrate the confidence to confirm or challenge those viewpoints as appropriate
- Provide information to the Company’s Board of Directors on a regular basis on investor activity, stock performance, peer company comparisons and Maxis stock surveillance
- Develop expertise on the core business, key business drivers, strategic priorities, competitive landscape, etc., via discussions with management and other employees and research
- Develop analytical models for market data, operating metrics and financial performance in collaboration with Finance
- Manage, update and analyze the near-term and long-term internal revenue forecasting model as well as industry market model
- Bachelors Degree
- Total work experience of 15 years and more, with 10 years relevant experience in Investor Relations
- Relevant Telco experience.
- Ability to communicate business strategies and complex financial information clearly and accurately to a variety of audiences both orally and through written material
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Very strong analytical skills, including highly proficient financial modelling skills
- Professional demeanor, integrity and sound judgement; must be able to manage highly sensitive information in confidence and with discretion
- Strong team player who can incorporate input from others and can generate consensus through inclusion
- Acts as thought leader and participates in strategic discussions
- Defines approach and performs detailed analyses, synthesizes results and delivers insights
- Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively
- Must have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a desire to produce top level results

- Drive the formulation of the MISC Group-wide strategic planning to ensure cohesiveness of business objectives towards achieving MISC Group’s vision and mission as well as to ensure optimal group resource prioritization to support MISC Group’s business growth and operational needs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
New Ideas/ Projects origination
- Strategize and lead the identification and origination of potential business ideas, strategic corporate proposals and inorganic growth opportunities for MISC Group.
Strategic Planning and Performance Review Framework, Policies, Procedures and Tools
- Lead and drive the formulation, development and review of a robust and integrated strategic planning and performance review framework, policies, procedures and tools.
- Lead and drive the performance tracking and review of achievement of the corporate score card.
Business Research
- Lead and drive the analysis of maritime industry, economic database or market intelligence for the purpose of forecasting industry trends and outlooks.
- Lead and drive the research and benchmarking of competitors’ business activities and strategies to support the development of MISC Group’s long, medium- and short-term business plans.
Project Feasibility Review and Execution Strategy
- Lead and drive the identification, origination and recommendation of an appropriate transaction structure/approach to ensure effective execution of the new business transaction idea to uphold competitiveness at all times.
- Lead and drive the feasibility reviews of new business transaction ideas/opportunities and portfolio of businesses to determine strategic and operational fit, resource optimization and compatibility with the Group’s long-term plans/strategies.
Investor Relations
- Lead and drive the Investor Relations function to become the proactive source of communication on the general strategic direction of the company with the investment community media, general investing public and regulatory bodies to ensure an effective source of capital as well as transparency and good corporate governance.
People Development
- Provide guidance and motivation to drive the development of a ready pool of capable and competent Corporate Planning professionals to best support the Group’s business growth and operational needs.
REQUIREMENT:
- Minimum 17 years working experience in finance / accounting / corporate planning / equity research / audit / investment banking environment, with specific experience in financial forecasting/ financial modelling / corporate restructuring / M&A.
- Experience in a risk management or risk-based audit environment is an advantage.
- Working experience include exposure in senior managerial capacity / position and possesses a working appreciation of the role and orientation of the top management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business Studies/ Economics or equivalent with accounting/ finance/ legal/ economics background and/or working knowledge in Finance/ Management Accounting.
- Professional qualification or relevant post graduate degree would be an added advantage (e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst or MBA)

- Develop and cascade corporate strategies and tactical plans
