Trainee Commercial Insurance Broker / Account Handlers – Bristol City centre

Our client is a major commercial insurance brokerage with offices in Bristol City Centre. They have a fantastic training programme which allows insurance professionals from all backgrounds the opportunity to pursue a career within commercial broking.

Ideally applicants will have some commercial insurance experience, either broking, underwriting or claims, however, we are more than happy to hear from individuals from varying insurance backgrounds, perhaps you’re a personal lines broker or underwriter or wanting to move away from an insurance call centre. All we ask is that you have a desire to learn, to work hard, have a positive mind set and are keen to join a quality “team oriented” business.

In this role you will be dealing with smaller commercial clients, mainly SME with annual premium spends up to £10k. You will provide new business quotations, make amendments to existing policies and be involved in marketing renewals. This role requires a very professional approach and great attention to detail.

Previous us of Acturis system would be beneficial bit is not essential (system training will be provided).

Our client is able to provide an excellent basic salary + a fantastic benefits package which includes 27 days holiday, very generous pension contributions + bonus.

  • The Contractor - Third Party Risk Assessment Analyst will be responsible for evaluating the security and compliance posture of third-party vendors and partners. Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of third-party vendors and partners.
  • Evaluate vendors' security policies, procedures, and controls to ensure they meet FWD's standards.
  • Identify potential risks associated with third-party relationships and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure a thorough assessment process.

  • 3 or more years of experience in third-party risk assessment, vendor management, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PCI-DSS).
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC) are a plus.

This is a global support role, covering SCB's presence across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, and spans multiple business lines such as Retail Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Transaction Banking, and Financial Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment: support the performance of both inherent and residual risk assessments (regular, dynamic and targeted).
  • Control Monitoring: Support the control design effectiveness assessment, and dynamically monitor risk and controls.
  • Change Risk: Assess and manage risks associated with change initiatives.
  • Issue & Event Management: Support in the management of issues and events, escalate as needed, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Risk Insights: Provide actionable risk insights to business stakeholders.

Job Summary

The Managed Services team, established to support Group Risk and CFCR, centralizes the production and risk management activities in a service hub. This allows teams to make risk-reward decisions based on judgment and expertise, influence business and regulatory outcomes and oversee strategic risk and compliance programs, such as Fit for Growth (FFG) and the Controls Simplification Programme


This is a global support role, covering SCB's presence across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, and spans multiple business lines such as Retail Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Transaction Banking, and Financial Markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Assessment: support the performance of both inherent and residual risk assessments (regular, dynamic and targeted).
• Control Monitoring: Support the control design effectiveness assessment, and dynamically monitor risk and controls.
• Change Risk: Assess and manage risks associated with change initiatives.
• Issue & Event Management: Support in the management of issues and events, escalate as needed, and ensure timely reporting.
• Risk Insights: Provide actionable risk insights to business stakeholders.

Company Background:

We represent one of a top financial advisory firm in Singapore that provides insurance solutions (Corporate/ Individual) and financial plans. As they are expanding, they are looking for Offshore Business Manager to be based in Kuala Lumpur.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the main point of contact for offshore brokers in China, Thailand, and ASEAN countries. Coordinate daily activities, address broker inquiries, and maintain consistent communication to support business objectives.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for brokers to enhance their knowledge of our products, services, and the regulatory landscape. Ensure brokers are well-equipped to deliver quality advisory services.
  • Provide ongoing support to offshore brokers, including guidance on client management, problem resolution, and alignment with company goals and standards. Collaborate to resolve any issues promptly to maintain strong broker relations.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities within China, Thailand, and ASEAN. Recommend strategies for enhancing our business operations and adapting to regional market dynamics.
  • Ensure all offshore brokers are compliant with both local regulations and Singaporean standards. Educate and advise brokers on regulatory updates that may impact their work.
  • Liaise with internal teams in Singapore, such as compliance, distribution, and business development, to align offshore activities with the company's objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum with Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in any relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years in life insurance financial advisory, or a related field, an added advantage if have exposure to offshore life insurance markets in China, Thailand, and ASEAN.
  • Insurance agent is encouraged to apply if they want to seek and grow their career.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin due to business nature (Required to deal with China region)
  • Willing to travel within Malaysia and oversea.
