Job Description

This position leads the development, evaluation, and implementation of innovative technologies in palm oil processes and operations. Acting as a technical and strategic enabler, the role supports plant trials, engineering integration, and business case development to drive operational excellence, sustainability, and value creation. The Innovation Manager collaborates closely with internal engineering teams, customers’ R&D, and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., technology providers, operations and business leaders) to deliver impactful solutions aligned with the group’s innovation strategy.

Job Description:

  • Technical Innovation
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to enhance palm operations.
  • Lead or support feasibility studies (technical & business) for process and product innovation projects.
  • Collaborate and work closely with project and process engineers to ensure successful integration of new technologies into plant design or retrofit.
  • Organize and facilitate knowledge-sharing platforms, technical workshops, vendor engagements, and field trials (e.g., POC, FAT).
  • Key Focus Area (Upstream)
  • Process Optimization (e.g., quality improvement, process efficiency, cost reduction)
  • Value Added Processes/ Products (e.g., biomass, palm by-products)
  • Green & Sustainable Technology (e.g., carbon reduction, renewable energy)
  • Regulatory Compliances (e.g., food safety, environmental)
  • New palm related technologies (enzymatic, phytonutrient, animal nutrition, etc.)

New Project & Implementation Supports

  • Coordinate and work together in cross-functional working groups and taskforces across new innovation projects/ programmes
  • Monitor trials/ implementation project outcomes and assess ongoing performance against expected results.
  • Identify gaps, risks, or improvement opportunities in current innovations and recommend future-proof enhancements.
  • Develop and publish (internally) technology Market Intel reports specific to the palm oil industry and technologies.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with regular updates on emerging technology trends, pilot successes, and vendor capabilities.
  • Support departments with ad-hoc technical or business analyses related to innovation feasibility or benchmarking

Job Requirement :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, or related technical fields.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the palm oil processing industry
  • Proven experience in plant trials, process innovation, or technology implementation.
  • Familiarity with technology evaluation, cost-benefit analysis, and engineering system integration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional innovation projects from ideation to execution.
  • Good stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Agile and adaptable to work on a diverse range of innovation areas.
  • Willing to travel for site visits (local and overseas), vendor engagement, and plant project coordination.

Purpose of role:

Innovation Manager will be responsible for the efficient management, driving and tracking of all new product development projects, establishing best practice in the product development process and communication with stakeholders on projects status and issues by working actively and closely with Brand Team and RA to deliver innovation based on consumers insight, trend, market environment and regulations

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage strategic innovation plan through Blackmores' new product development process, including project network meetings.
  • Develop project leadership within a multi-functional team (e.g., regulation team, finance and supply chain team) to drive the development of new products for the local market.
  • Partner with the global marketing team and innovation delivery management team, translating technical topics to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with the Blackmore Malaysia Leadership Team for the innovation pipeline over the next 3-5 years.
  • Work with the brand and category team to conceptualize new products, ensuring they align with a competitive 6Ps strategy in Malaysia market.
  • Thrive for best practice on project timelines, key milestones, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Stay in the forefront of innovations and trends analysis for strategic market assessment and competitor analysis

Who are you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, advertising or any related discipline
  • 5 years’ experience working in project management experience in FMCG industry
  • Ability to translate and communicate technical topics to both technical and non-technical people
  • Experience in Working with Audience Data
  • A sense of independence to work individually and as a team player, and ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Passion for growth in business and a proven track record in generating, leading and converting opportunities

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Develop and roll out commercial digital/e-commerce business strategy and manage annual expense budget and sales forecast
    • Set clear commercial digital/e-commerce strategy, performance measures and promotions activities and align with collaborative departments.
    • Perform regular monitoring of progress, market analysis and develop improvement action plans accordingly.
    • Develop and manage existing and new key customers (platforms and online initiatives).
    • Understand decision-making process and key decision makers in key accounts.
    • Develop online related marketing initiatives including internal communication with cross functions, external vendor management and coordination, partner education and negotiation, status tracking, feedback collection and improvement plan development, etc.
    • Collaborate closely with distribution partners to improve product accessibility to patients.
    • Ensure the quality and compliance execution of commercial digital/e-commerce activities.

Desired Background

  • 5+ years working experience in e-commerce in either healthcare companies, healthcare online platforms.
  • Experience in e-commerce sales, business development, key accounts and distributor management.

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and globally minded Innovation & Product Strategy Manager to support the Singapore-based Regional Director of Innovation and Product Strategy in Asia. This role is a unique blend of high-level executive support, regional coordination, and special project implementation—ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced innovation and cross-border business environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring operational alignment across teams, tracking strategic projects, and supporting process improvement across Asia’s growing network of startup andinnovation programs.

The responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive and can include other related tasks. The employee will from time-to-time work for other projects as the company sees fit.

Key Responsibilities

Executive & Strategic Support

• Prepare meeting materials, presentations, and post-meeting summaries for leadership meetings and stakeholder engagements held in Singapore and across Asia.

• Assist in drafting regional reports and internal documentation.

• Help monitor strategic initiatives and ensure follow-through on key priorities.

• Maintain regional awareness and provide insights into market trends, innovation ecosystems, and regional startup and innovation activities.

Process Standardization & Regional Coordination

• Work closely with the Regional Director to help standardize and implement program processes, documentation, and workflows across different Asian markets.

• Support the roll-out of consistent tools, templates, and operating procedures across teams.

• Coordinate with remote teams across time zones to align on strategic goals and project delivery.

• Help track team compliance with updated workflows, frameworks, key performance indicators and provide regular progress updates.

• Manage documentation and systematize knowledge for repeatable execution across teams.
