The purpose of this role is to enhance operational efficiency and scalability through automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices besides enabling Singtel to provide an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer , your role is to work with the rest of team members on the design, implementation and managing cloud infrastructure solutions. Your deep knowledge on AWS and Azure will indirectly help business to improve systems availability. You will be working in an agile environment, while adhering to industry best practices and DevSecOps methodologies.

Skills for Success

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3-4 years proven experience with cloud services on AWS/Azure, including architecture design and implementation
• Strong proficiency in IaC tools: Terraform, Bicep and CloudFormation
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills for cloud environment
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps practices, tools, and methodologies
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and risk management

About the role : We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using modern DevOps tools and practices. You will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and automated cloud environments, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive performance, cost-efficiency, and innovation.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Implementation

• Design, build, and deploy highly available, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions across (insert cloud platform(s) – e.g., GCP / AWS / Azure).
• Translate business and technical requirements into robust cloud architecture.
  
  

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Automate provisioning and configuration tasks using Python, Shell scripts, Ansible, etc.
  
  

• Integrate infrastructure workflows into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Enable seamless deployment and integration with application teams.
  
  

• Implement and manage monitoring and logging tools to ensure system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize resource usage.
  
  

• Apply and enforce cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Implement IAM policies, data protection controls, and secure network configurations.
  
  

• Provide expert support for cloud infrastructure issues and participate in on-call rotations if required.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure problems in a timely manner.
  
  

• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to support seamless cloud deployments.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure design, policies, and procedures.
  
  

• Monitor cloud usage and optimize for cost-efficiency.
• Provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities and cloud spend tracking.
  
  

• Stay current with the latest cloud technologies and trends.
• Evaluate and introduce new tools and services that enhance cloud operations and scalability.
  
  

• Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and/or JavaScript.
• IaC Tools: Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM Templates.
• CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Containers & Orchestration: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Load Balancing.
• Databases: Basic knowledge of both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider - GCP/ AWS/ Azure: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, Cloud Monitoring, Deployment Manager, etc.
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Stackdriver, etc.).
  
  

• Cloud certifications (e.g., GCP Associate/Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud setups.

TASK LIST FOR THE ROLE

• Provide 2nd/3rd level network support for Network International
• Handle Requests, Incidents, Changes, and Problems in the production network environment
• Support various network projects
• Communicate with different internal departments as well as external companies and vendors

Participate in weekends, public holidays, and on-call support

Technical, methodology, and business skills include:

• Networking knowledge with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience (Cisco CCNP level) with skills in topics such as:
• Network protocols: MPLS, BGP / multiprotocol BGP, OSPF, multicast routing (PIM, MSDP)
• Layer-2 network technologies
• Product knowledge for Cisco Nexus, Catalyst series, Cisco ASR, and ISR routers and their operating systems
• Implementation and configuration of Cisco Software Defined infrastructures
• SD-WAN, SDA, WLAN (including Meraki)
• Network management technologies like SNMP, SYSLOG, IP SLA, NetFlow

Personal Skills:

• Successfully completed studies in computer science, business informatics, or comparable training
• High level of responsibility, team ability, and initiative

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll help set up, manage, and support the company’s IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud services. You'll work with both Windows and Linux systems, handle day-to-day troubleshooting, and make sure everything runs smoothly and securely.

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise servers running Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on skills in Windows and Linux system administration.
• Administer Huawei Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environments.
• Manage VMware vCenter virtual infrastructure.
• Utilize IT operations platforms such as ManageEngine (preferred).
• Support and work with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei Cloud, or Alibaba Cloud (advantageous).
• Troubleshoot and resolve server hardware, OS, and network-related issues; collaborate with vendors as required.
• Monitor server and network performance metrics to ensure SLAs are maintained.
• Forecast server and network usage based on user and application growth projections.
• Address and close audit findings related to server and network infrastructure.
• Administer backup solutions such as Veeam or Cohesity (preferred).
• Design and implement high availability (HA) solutions from both server and network perspectives.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises focusing on server, network, and backup systems.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices throughout the infrastructure environment.

Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology or extensive field experience in lieu.
• Extensive hands on experience of Windows/Linux servers administration in an enterprise environment
• Hands on experience in the following:
• Managengine
• Microsoft AD Administration is an advantage
• Veam or Cohesity Backup experience an advantage.
• Experience utilising and configuring Solarwinds, Dynatrace an advantage
• Experience with security EDR tools, DLP an advantage
• Strong understanding of networking
• Secondary ability to perform network administration an advantage. Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, VPN, LAN and WAN links.

• F5 Load balancer

• Working with local WAN link providers like TM and Time.

• Good analytical and problem solving skills including ability to visualise and plan troubleshooting steps.
