World Courier (Petaling Street, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) is hiring for an Import Operations Clerk. Overall responsibility for coordinating and managing all Import functionality tasks for shipments destined to Australia. The Import Operations Clerk will ensure all international shipments are reported to Australian Border Force / Quarantine authorities and customs brokers for clearance and will coordinate with internal departments and external partners to facilitate compliant import operations.
Responsibilities- Prepare and process import documentation, including customs invoices, House Air Waybill, Master Air Waybill.
- Report shipment details to Australian Customs and Quarantine and airlines via Expedient or Incident Command Systems.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import laws, and company policies throughout the import process.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, other World Courier offices and departments to facilitate timely and accurate customs clearance of imported goods.
- Monitor shipment status and address issues related to delays, discrepancies, or customs holds, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of all import transactions, including filing and tracking documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate payment of import duties, taxes, and freight charges.
- Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for import processes.
- Assist in preparing reports and analysis related to import activities and performance metrics.
- Ensure work is carried out in a timely and professional manner to high standards and that staff meet responsibilities.
- Use World Courier Transport Management System / Expedient / Customs Interactive System, OptiView Jetstream.
- External communications with clients, service providers, Customs, and other regulatory bodies; internal communications within World Courier Network and other departments.
- Ensure temperature-controlled handling instructions are communicated to relevant departments to maintain correct temperatures.
- Pre-shipment enquiries for shipments requiring specialist clearance and issuing of sending instructions.
- Strict adherence to internal procedures, SOPs and company memos.
- National Imports Team Leader
- 1-2 years working experience in logistics / import operations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with logistics or import software systems.
- Must be capable of managing all aspects of the Operations Imports role consistently in compliance and to a high standard.
- Must have strong industry experience & knowledge.
- Able to follow procedures and instructions within Transport Management System and World Courier Standard Operating Procedures.

What You Will Do- Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations (including US EAR/ITAR) and uphold internal Trade Compliance Policies across all sites.
- Manage SAP GTS screening, denied party checks, and product classification (e.g., ECCN, tariff codes, origin rules).
- Develop and deliver trade compliance training, maintain audit-ready records, and support external audits by regulators (Customs, MITI, MIDA, SIRIM).
- Lead investigations into trade violations, provide guidance to stakeholders, and identify opportunities for duty savings.

- Serve as the primary liaison with Customs authorities for audits, renewals, and amendments.
- Coordinate with relevant internal teams to ensure readiness for LMW-related inspections or regulatory submissions.
- Review and assess COO eligibility under applicable APAC FTAs.
- Ensure complete and accurate FTA documentation is maintained for duty exemption claims.
- Keep up to date with evolving trade regulations and proactively flag potential compliance impacts.
- Perform landed cost analysis for imported goods and raw materials.
- Support procurement and finance teams with accurate cost data for pricing, budgeting, and vendor evaluation.
- Highlight potential opportunities for tariff savings, cost reduction, or process improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Customs officers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure smooth communication and regulatory alignment.
- Provide real-time responses to compliance-related inquiries and requirements.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to monitor inbound/ outbound goods and manage scrap handling in accordance with compliance protocols.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and finance to maintain seamless, end-to-end supply chain compliance.
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned to support trade operations and regulatory initiatives.
- Bachelors’ Degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in trade compliance, customs operations, or supply chain compliance.
- Understanding of customs processes, COO, and import/ export regulations.
- Analytical mindset with hands-on experience in landed cost computation.

Responsibilities- Export Control Operations & Licensing
- Manage and approve PGP and RSN requests for physical and manual shipments.
- Administer SAP GTS, including release of blocked SO/DO, license maintenance, and controlled part number updates.
- Maintain and deactivate export control licenses based on expiration, full utilization, or revocation.
- Coordinate with Global Logistics Trade Compliance (GLTC) and apply for export licenses and agreements via relevant government authorities.
- Ensure timely and accurate implementation of export approvals and technology transfer requirements.
- Conduct export screenings such as Denied Parties Checks for vendors and partners.
- Compliance Expertise & Regulatory Oversight
- Act as the on-site expert for export and controlled goods regulations, including military and dual-use technologies governed under laws such as Malaysia Strategic Trade Act 2010.
- Training, Documentation & Audits
- Deliver CGP/ITAR new hire training and ensure ongoing employee awareness on export/controlled goods compliance.
- Maintain and update required documentation as part of the Internal Compliance Program (ICP) and Control Goods Program (CGP).
- Update the Technology Control Plan (TCP) audit checklist (e.g., TCP 7908) and align site practices with audit requirements.
- Publish Export Control Awareness updates (e.g., CelNews) at least twice annually.
- System & Access Approvals
- Approve ServiceNow tickets for CGP system access.
- Approve RDS access via email and maintain the RDS tracker.
- Fill in and sign CECC forms as required.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for SAP PRD and SAP GTQ systems.
- Visitor & Data Access Control
- Approve visitor vetting and ensure compliance with CGP access protocols.
- Sign off on End User Statements (EUS) for intersite, suppliers, and customers.
- Create, maintain, and update the masterlist for controlled part numbers, licenses, entity approvals, and related records.
- Solid knowledge of ITAR, EAR, STA2010, and CGP requirements.
- Familiarity with SAP GTS and license management systems.

You will work with various team members to support Micron’s trade compliance program, including import and export classification activities, supporting various aspects of import and customs operations, and performing export screening and diligence activities as well as other trade compliance related tasks. Responsibilities
Perform import and export classification activities with a focus on semiconductors, electronics, and encryption. Enhance existing classification processes through process improvement initiatives. Perform denied party screening activities, diligence on prospective customers, vendors, and business partners, adjudicate potential screening matches, and support general export compliance activities. Support certain global import operations through data gathering, invoice support and other related tasks. Liaise with Micron business functions to support compliance with local, regional, and global trade compliance operations. Support internal and external self-assessments and audit commitments, including responsibilities for process improvements and corrective actions. Primary Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Background in Engineering a plus. Project management experience a plus. Excellent communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make impactful decisions.
