1. Handle all specific matters related to the company's import and export customs clearance, logistics, and freight forwarding to ensure the smooth operation of the company's import, export, and logistics business.

About the role

Responsible for the end-to-end management of the import and export processes for products moving between the United Kingdom and international markets. This includes obtaining customer- and country-specific documentation, completing formalities in SAP GTS and SAP ECC, conducting import/export compliance checks, coordinating with freight forwarders, and managing dispatches to distribution depots. A strong understanding of export documentation requirements and country-specific regulations is essential, particularly for markets with strict compliance standards.
Key responsibilities
- You will manage and action daily requests received through a centrally managed shared inbox. This includes reviewing import/export requirements and generating SAP GTS Import/Export Declaration Instruction Sheets. During this process, you may need to collaborate with other Kerry functions to support the preparation of additional documentation, such as Export Health Certificates for Products of Animal Origin, Composite Product Private Attestations, and Phytosanitary Certificate requests. You will also be responsible for liaising with local authorities or chambers to obtain Certificates of Origin (COO) and Health Certificates.
- Effective management and communication with external stakeholders are critical to ensuring smooth import/export operations. A high level of attention to detail is essential in this role.
- Once Kerry’s broker completes the import/export clearance, you will conduct a thorough review of the declarations against the provided instructions. Any discrepancies or issues must be flagged and corrected. Completed declarations will be organized and filed in compliance with local customs requirements and classified as General Business documentation.
- As the first point of escalation for Kerry sites, transport providers, and brokers, you will support the resolution of any issues related to import/export formalities and the movement of goods.
- Upon completion of export clearance by the freight forwarder, you will review the export declaration and accompanying documents to ensure accuracy and compliance. Any errors must be addressed and resolved promptly, and all documentation must be filed according to local customs regulations.
- In addition to export responsibilities, you will also provide support for import processes as needed.
Qualifications and skills
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related commercial discipline is advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in import/export, with a solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations.
- Experience in customs processes and regulations is a strong advantage.
