The Product Diagnostic & Quality Center (PDQC) is seeking an experienced Hardware Validation Engineer to support the validation of electrical test hardware for NXP product analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong Test Engineering background and experience. This role involves verifying board design quality using translated test patterns, troubleshooting hardware issues, debugging test pattern or test flows, and documenting validation results through detailed reports. The engineer will collaborate closely with the Failure Analysis Enablement (FAE), Hardware Design, Test Engineering, and Failure Analysis teams to ensure successful validation and release of test hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate electrical test hardware to ensure accuracy and reliability for product analysis
- Ensure test patterns and board designs meet validation standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and setup issues to optimize performance
- Ensure workable test patterns and board designs through a thorough validation process
- Document validation results and findings in comprehensive reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple NXP locations to drive hardware validation and release
Qualifications & Skills:
- Solid background in test engineering, including hardware validation methodologies
- Proficiency in debugging test patterns, understanding test flows and ATE testing
- Expertise in troubleshooting test hardware, including tester supply resources, load boards, and socket boards for Failure Analysis.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate across multiple disciplines
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills

- Hardware & layout viewing tools: Allegro PCB Editor Viewer, TinyCAD

- Knowledge of basic electronics (DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.) and mechanical testing (positional, cyclic, temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, altitude, etc.).
- Knowledge of C/C++/C# programming; experience with Visual Studio .NET is an advantage.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited university. Typically 6 years of experience in R&D, NPI or Test Engineering. Knowledge of basic electronics (DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.) and mechanical testing (positional, cyclic, temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, altitude, etc.). Knowledge of C/C++/C# programming; experience with Visual Studio .NET is an advantage. Experience with design/testing of automated equipment, robotics and other instrumentation is an added advantage. Strong organization, planning, interpersonal skills and team collaboration. Analytical and troubleshooting skills with a detail-oriented approach to root cause failure analysis. Job Description
As a Test Engineer, you will take ownership of all technical aspects of product testing at our subcontract assembly and test locations. You will be responsible for test programs, test hardware, production qualification, and overcoming barriers to Overall Equipment Effectiveness. We look to all of our test engineering personnel to innovate and drive operational and quality excellence. This position interfaces with R&D staff as well as with Operations personnel and the subcontractor’s test staff.
Responsibilities- Develop and optimize ATE test programs for analog and mixed signal power management semiconductor components.
- Ensure smooth deployment of high quality, efficient and cost-effective probe and test solutions at our OSATs.
- Work closely with Design and NPI teams to define test methods and develop test solutions for new products (software and hardware).
- Travel to our OSATs to support NPI, product sustaining and efficiency improvement activities as needed.
- BSEE or equivalent, MSEE preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in a semiconductor test environment.
- Relevant experience in analog product test engineering responsibility, production support and new product introduction will be an added advantage.
- Experience in C++ programming, computer hardware, and networking related to semiconductor ATE systems.
- A basic understanding of statistical methods of tester and program comparisons is desired.
- Good planning, coordination, analytical and communication skills.
- English fluency, other languages desirable
