Job Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and drive Unilever’s growth engine into the future. We’re looking for a driven, proactive, creative and organized Brand Manager who will be responsible for leading the activation of our brand strategy in Malaysia across consumer facing channels. Using breakthrough thinking and category, consumer, brand and customer understanding to create a clear and ambitious growth vision and strategy for the assigned portfolio. This is a role of high strategic importance for the assigned portfolio. You’ll be part of the local marketing team working across a range of varied and exciting brand projects, from big national advertising campaigns to building a standout brand experience across direct-to-consumer channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the Integrated Business Plan of the assigned brand portfolio.
  • Lead a multi-functional team to implement plans in the marketplace and monitor the performance of the support plans.
  • Lead in budget planning, innovations, activation, advertising, and promotion for the deployment of a Brand Marketing Plan OTIF.
  • Analyze brand P&L and drive the profitability of the brand.
  • Lead ongoing analysis and review of consumer, category, channel/customer, and competitive information as part of a situation assessment of brand performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Build productive relationships with the customer development/sales team, Consumer Market Insights, regional category team, finance, and supply chain to manage day-to-day operations, external partners and agencies.
  • Support the creation of the National Category Building Plan based on viewing Category Strategy through the lens of the local market reality.
  • Provide input to volume forecasting and financial updates; monitor key indicators and drivers of brand performance. Recommend solutions and implement improvements to meet annual targets.
  • Involve in launch management, building launch plans, customer sell-in and legal/regulatory issues.
  • Manage the assigned brand’s new product launch assessment and deployment in the local market, including P&L, pricing, place and positioning.
What You Need To Succeed

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in brand/product management/marketing, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
  • Marketing leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering topline and marketing KPIs (driving share and penetration).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key account representative for Agency and Client
  • Services Client on day-to-day basis to ensure all deliverables are met
  • Builds and maintains good relationships with Client
  • Works with Account Director to develop long and short-term marketing and advertising initiatives
  • Helps Client evaluate effectiveness of marketing and advertising programmes and monitors competitive activities and plans appropriate response/action
  • Works with Creative team to ensure creative development is on strategy and meets Client's expectations / standards
  • Keeps senior management fully informed of account activity and development including client issues
  • Manages overall budget and account profitability including monthly internal account reconciliation
  • Works with Creative team to ensure creative development is on strategy and meets Client's expectations / standards
  • Any other reasonable duties, functions or responsibilities assigned to you from time to time
REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Able to present and sell Agency thinking and work
  • Solid presentation and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with clients
  • Knowledge of all agency functional areas in order to monitor, evaluate and impact the quality of work from strategy development to the finished product (this includes production, media, research, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum three to five years' experience within an advertising agency or related industry.
