About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering to join our dynamic team at Sahirra Maju Construction. In this full-time role based in Ipoh, Perak, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost-effective and efficient delivery.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and analyzing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects. Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
• Negotiating and administering contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
• Able to handle road construction and housing development road construction (Excavation, grading, sloping/subgrade & base preparation/asphalt installation/pothole filing & patching/ Kerb installation/drainage installation/road line & signage)
• Monitoring project costs and variations, and implementing effective cost control measures
• Measure and value the work done on-site and submit detailed progress reports.
• Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any sub-contractors.
• Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
• Observe and ensure all equipment and procedures comply with safety regulations.
• Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
• Prepare and submit claim to accounts.
• Other QS duties as and when assigned by superior.

• Diploma /Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction or a related field
• Minimum 2-4 years' experience as a Civil Engineering in the construction at least 2-4 years of working experience in road construction and housing development road construction industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Proficient in using construction project management software and MS Office suite
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels

Role Description

This is a full-time position for a Civil Engineer (Junior) located in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including civil engineering design, planning, liasing and preparing submissions to relevant authorities.

The role also encompasses overseeing construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure project success.

2. Site Supervision

• Supervise site works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Check setting out, levels, and alignment of structural and architectural works.
• Monitor subcontractors' performance and workmanship.
• Report site issues or delays to the Project Manager/Resident Engineer.

3. Quality & Safety Control

• Ensure all works comply with local authorities' requirements (CIDB, DOSH, JKR, etc.).
• Implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare defect lists.
• Enforce safety regulations (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967).

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare site reports, daily records, and progress reports.
• Keep records of drawings, revisions, and site instructions.
• Handle Request for Information (RFI), method statements, and work permits.
• Assist in preparing progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts
