The Role
This is a high-profile leadership position providing strategic legal direction to an expanding FPSO and offshore portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Acting as the principal legal adviser on all FPSO and offshore operations.
- Drafting, negotiating, and managing complex agreements, including FPSO charters, EPCIC contracts, joint ventures, and subcontracts.
- Supporting major project financings, including negotiation of loan and security documentation for multi-billion-dollar offshore assets.
- Leading dispute resolution matters (arbitration, litigation, and settlement strategies), working closely with external counsel.
- Overseeing governance, compliance, and regulatory matters across global subsidiaries.
- Identifying, managing, and mitigating legal risks in offshore business operations.
The Person
- 10–15 years’ post-qualification experience with a strong track record in FPSO, offshore energy, or maritime law.
- In-house experience with an offshore/energy contractor, operator, or leading maritime company strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage high-value commercial contracts and financing arrangements.
- Commercially astute with strong risk management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Draft and revise contracts and individual contract terms regarding EHS matters and reflecting EHS programs and policies.
- Provide EHS advice and counsel for Micron acquisitions and divestitures and assist with EHS-related due diligence, as needed

- Assist in litigation matters and enforcement or regulatory matters before governmental agencies on EHS matters
- Engage with EHS regulatory agencies throughout Micron’s Asia-based operations
- Monitor for changes and developments in EHS laws and regulations in Asia and assist in the development of forward-thinking strategies to effectively navigate those changes
- Retain and manage outside counsel and outside consultants as needed
- Occasional international travel to Micron’s manufacturing sites
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years PQE of legal practice in a top-tier law firm or an in-house legal environment, preferably in the area of EHS matters
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- A proven track-record of high integrity, ethical conduct, and sound judgment
- Prior experience advising on global manufacturing operations, preferably for a U.S. headquartered company
- The ability to engage a diverse cross-functional group of stakeholders and support results across a matrixed organization
- Experience engaging with team members from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Strong English language written and verbal skills to effectively interface with all levels of business management and with government officials. Mandarin or other business language skills a plus.
