The PGGI Site Manager main responsibility to lead all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning phases. In this position, you will serve as the point of contact for Customer, contractors and be expected to liaise between Team members and management. You must possess strong organizational and communication skills and work proficiently both individually and in teams.
How you’ll make an impact:
- You will be fully responsible and monitor all site activity, plans project on-site activities with Project Manager including management of the site personnel and the delivery of the contractual requirements, coordinate and drive the performance of the Site Works / operations in accordance with the Contract; ensure the fulfilment of the contractual deliverables within the defined schedule, cost effective, with the utmost importance to Quality, Health and Safety as per Hitachi energy standards.
- You will serve as the main interface to the customer site representatives and local authorities, assist in technical discussions with customers.
- You will be responsible for the proper implementation and compliance with the site-specific Health, Safety and Environmental Plan.
- You will ensure detailed construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place, compliant with the Hitachi Energy standards, ensure all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project, if a situation arise, take the necessary steps to ensure that Hitachi employees and other persons are safe.
- You will manage the site budget and site costs, prepare accurate cost forecasting, communicate deviations, define mitigation actions to stay within budget and manage and follow subcontract works, claims, payment certificates and the overall performance of our subcontractors.
- You will ensure the collection and implementation of Lessons Learnt from previous projects and the preparation and distribution of Lessons Learnt from their site to the rest of the organization, ensure all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and the latest revisions are used for the construction work on site.

Your background:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as Site Manager role for high voltage installations /electrical construction site/substation.
- Ability to take the lead and work hands-on to deliver on timely completion / customer expectations Safety first - on and off work. Relevant knowledge and experience in the field of HSE and sound knowledge in contracts management and commercial, fair knowledge on high voltage substation commissioning and O&M.
- Good teamwork, structure, communication, and collaboration skills, good understanding knowledge in Schedule management, must be able to review and plan, such as critical path and risk identification and mitigation.
- Self-motivated who drives all stakeholders internally and external customers, knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
- Able to work on assigned site whenever is required

Responsibilities- Organize and manage all internal and external resources—financial, material, and human—to ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met, in accordance with country regulations, Group requirements, and certified Management System.
- Ensure all buildings, processes, equipment, and materials present minimal hazards through upstream project involvement, issuing HSE specifications, and continuous audit of these measures.
- Plan, assign, budget, and monitor corrective or preventive actions following audits, inspections, and best practice exchanges.
- Maintain continuous regulatory compliance of the site.
- Conduct risk assessments for all HSE fields, including emergency, contractor works, unplanned maintenance, and deviations, with mitigation plans documented.
- Develop manuals, procedures, instructions, visual standards, and signage for each area.
- Ensure safety tools and standards are understood, applied, and enforced through on-the-job training and audits.
- Communicate HSE issues internally and externally with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor safety risks and incidents using QRQC, PDCA, and FTA tools.
- Develop safety leadership skills using Safety First, Risk Hunting, PFMEA, Safety Talks, and Safety Briefings to achieve certification and autonomy in safety management.
- Train personnel for emergency and unexpected situations.
- Required professional certificates: Green Book holder and minimum Degree in OSHA.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry.

Job Description
- Prepare project preliminaries and oversee project acceptance.
- Monitor installation schedules on-site.
- Coordinate site planning and equipment at the site.
- Supervise subcontractor works on-site.
- Attend site meetings and follow up on action items.
- Coordinate with owners, consultants, architects, and other parties for approvals and queries.
- Liaise with contractors and subcontractors regarding site matters.
- Certify subcontractor work progress claims for credit control before the 20th of each month.
- Participate in internal meetings such as project meetings, collection meetings, and defect/delivery meetings.
- Provide weekly site progress or defect reports to the Head of Department (HOD) and highlight significant issues.
- Prepare for JKKP handover inspections.
- Conduct joint site inspections with subcontractors, quantity surveyors, and maintenance departments before handover to T&C and JKKP departments.
- Handle paperwork related to the assigned project, including correspondence, proposals, complaints, and quotations.
- Manage payment collections for the project.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the project HOD.
- Audit, monitor, and report on site conditions to superiors.
- Monitor and audit maintenance sites.
- Provide first-line troubleshooting support to technicians and subcontractors.
- Attend site technical meetings or other occasions as required, such as Bomba & JKKP inspections.
- Assist the site team with technical activities like testing, commissioning, and monthly servicing.
- Possess at least a Certificate or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Mechatronic) or related fields.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Fluency in Mandarin is preferred, as the role involves dealing with Chinese clients.
- Based in either Genting Highland or Kuching, Sarawak.
