Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into secure, robust, scalable, and maintainable software product architecture.
  • Oversee the effective delivery of all aspects of architecture, including application design and integration, data architecture, and business architecture.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, open source components, frameworks, patterns, risk management tools, and protocols to ensure the architecture is secure and meets system requirements while considering factors such as cost, security, risk, performance, and compatibility.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to software development teams on best practices in software architecture and security and assist engineers in troubleshooting and resolving issues with coding or design.
  • Create and maintain software architecture documentation, including design decisions, architectural patterns, and technical standards, to serve as a reference for the development team and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements & Qualification:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (min. 5 years) working as a software architect, with a strong background in software architecture, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
  • Proven track record in architectural design and development of large-scale, high-performance distributed applications hosted in On-Premise, Hybrid, and Multi-Cloud environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of the agile software development process including hands-on experience with multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, and Python), design patterns, frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, and Angular), and tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins).

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in secure software development, application security engineering, CI/CD automation, and the ability to integrate security into traditional, cloud-native, and AI-enabled development environments. You will lead a global team of security engineers, build scalable, developer-centric security capabilities, and influence security strategies across engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, and data science teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and evolve the enterprise application security program, including long-term vision, technical direction, and execution.
  • Define and implement scalable and modern AppSec practices that support cloud-native and AI-enabled application development.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a globally distributed team of application security engineers and specialists.
  • Champion a proactive, "shift-left" security culture by embedding security into the entire SDLC.
  • Act as a strategic partner to development, DevOps, AI/ML, and product teams to embed secure practices into software delivery and data science workflows.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to promote security-first thinking and align security investments with business value.
  • Represent application security in broader enterprise architecture, risk, and compliance initiatives.
  • Drive adoption and optimization of security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA, IAST, secrets scanning, etc.) integrated into CI/CD workflows.
  • Design and deploy developer-friendly tooling for threat modeling, code scanning, secrets detection, and dependency analysis.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineering teams to implement secure design patterns for model development, training pipelines, and AI service deployment.
  • Develop and enforce security controls for AI applications including data integrity, adversarial robustness, model governance, and prompt injection prevention.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging tools focused on securing machine learning pipelines, generative AI models, and AI APIs.
  • Build scalable security enablement programs for engineering teams, including secure coding workshops, bootcamps, and self-service platforms.
  • Guide the development of internal security documentation, policies, and standards.
  • Implement secure-by-default frameworks and reference architectures for internal use.
  • Stay current on application security threats, AI security research, and evolving best practices in cloud and software engineering.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure security posture and program effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 6+ years in information security or technology risk roles with a focus on application security, DevSecOps, or product security.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing high-performing technical teams.
  • Hands-on software development background (5+ years), including experience with secure coding and architecture.
  • Deep experience building or securing AI/ML platforms, APIs, or pipelines, especially in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Proven track record in building AppSec frameworks, secure SDLC processes, and security tooling at scale.
  • Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, secure architecture, vulnerability management, and software supply chain risks.
  • Expertise in CI/CD security and integrating tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Experience implementing AI security best practices, including model input validation, training data protection, and secure deployment of LLMs.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML-specific risks such as model inversion, data poisoning, adversarial examples, and prompt injection.
  • Proficiency with cloud-native environments and container security (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing global teams, including contractors and remote contributors.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex security concepts to executive and engineering audiences.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to navigate complex environments and influence across functions.
  • Comfortable operating in dynamic, high-growth, and high-stakes environments.
  • CISSP, CSSLP, AWS Security Specialty, GCIH, GCED, or relevant AI/ML certifications (e.g., Google Cloud ML, AWS Machine Learning Specialty).

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a professional Solution Architect Manager to develop and manage IT architecture, ensuring business alignment. Responsibilities include translating business needs into technical solutions, collaborating with stakeholders, evaluating technologies, and providing technical guidance. Risk management, compliance, continuous improvement, and team training are also key aspects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Design and Architecture

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into well-architected technical solutions.
  • Develop high-level architectural designs, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and platforms to meet project goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with enterprise architects, infra-architects, business leaders, project managers, and development teams to understand and prioritize needs.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a way that's understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of technical solutions with business strategies.
  • Obtain stakeholder approval and commitment

Technology Evaluation and Integration

  • Evaluate existing systems and propose enhancements or replacements.
  • Assess new technologies and tools, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with the existing infrastructure.
  • Provide recommendations for buy vs. build decisions.

Guidance and Oversight

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure best practices in coding, security, and deployment are followed.
  • Monitor and resolve architectural or design issues during development and testing.

Documentation and Standards

  • Create and maintain comprehensive solution documentation, including system diagrams, data flows, and technical specifications.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards and design principles.

Performance and Scalability

  • Design solutions that accommodate future growth and ensure optimal performance under varying loads.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms for system health and reliability.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks in architecture and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure solutions comply with regulatory and security requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies and devise strategies plan to bring innovation into solution designs.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to gather insights for future projects.

Training and Support

  • Provide training and knowledge sharing to teams on the implemented solutions.
  • Act as a technical advisor during troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Design Governance

  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, design principles, and best practices.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with solution design standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Passed Malay Language including an oral test at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field, recognized by the Government from any accredited local or international higher learning institution.
  • Possess at least 10 years of experience in software solutions architecture or software development, including a minimum of 3 years specializing in cloud architecture and solutions design, and at least 6 years in backend (Java) development.
  • Having a Java certification is preferred and will be considered an added advantage.
  • Having a certification in Cloud Architect technology is also preferred and will be considered beneficial.
  • Domain knowledge in the Financial Services industry is highly desirable.
