Your Role
Mighty Jaxx is expanding our creative team! We are on the lookout for talented 3D Artists with varying levels of experience to join our dynamic, collaborative environment. Whether you’re just starting to make your mark or are a seasoned professional, we have opportunities for you to contribute to the development of our unique, high-quality collectibles.
We are seeking 3D Artists and Senior 3D Artists to create top-tier 3D models that bridge concept and production. You will collaborate closely with our internal teams: across concept art and production, crafting our innovative product lines. Senior candidates will mentor junior artists and refine our processes, ensuring quality and efficiency at every stage.
Responsibilities
- Creative Development & Strategy : Collaborate with leadership and fellow creatives to shape the vision and strategy of 3D models for collectible products. Work with fellow creatives to build and maintain a 3D asset library to improve team efficiency.
- 3D Modeling & Production : Create and refine high-quality 3D assets that translate concept art into production-ready designs. Play a key role in overseeing the quality of 3D sculpts and ensuring product consistency from concept to final production.
- Quality Control & Efficiency : Lead sample reviews and ensure that all 3D models meet the brand’s creative standards. Develop efficient workflows that enhance the transition from digital sculpting to manufacturing.
- (For senior candidates): Team Leadership & Mentorship : Lead and mentor junior 3D artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure alignment with project goals. Senior 3D Artists will also drive process improvements for seamless collaboration across teams.
Requirements
- Prior experience in 3D modeling, ideally within toy or collectibles industries.
- Proficiency in ZBrush, with experience in additional 3D modeling tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, and Keyshot.
- Strong understanding of art styles, structure, and form, with the ability to translate them into high-quality 3D models.
- Familiarity with design tools like Adobe Suite to complement the modeling process.
- Strong communication skills for managing timelines, resources, and team collaborations.
- Passion for toys, pop culture, and collectible products.

What you’ll be doing
- Monitor the technical pipelines for all art within a project; from initial specifications, through to final in-game implementation and continued future support
- Identify and create methods to improve art pipelines and visual quality
- Profile and implement solutions for improving performance and optimization of art assets without sacrificing artistic vision
- Proactively identify new technologies and techniques that will improve the game
- Create detailed, easy to read documentation of toolsets and workflows that the team can rely on
- Develop and maintain art asset pipelines
- Guide team members in areas of expertise; instil best practices
- Support the implementation of new techniques
- Support the Art, Engineering and Design Teams, helping to resolve technical difficulties

What we’re looking for
- Demonstrable experience as a Technical Artist or related art role, working on or shipped at least one AAA title
- Can demonstrate creativity and technical ability within the constraints of console development
- Solid understanding of current and next-gen art pipelines and techniques in game development
- Experience with HLSL shader creation and PBR material workflow
- Good knowledge of Unity and Unreal engine tech, this includes applications such as Node Based Programming with Shader Graph and Blueprints
- Familiarity with visual FX, lighting, materials, and post effects
- Experience in application scripting (e.g. Python, C#), especially for DCC applications (Maya is preferred)

- Produce artwork in accordance to client's and technical specifications.
- Develops accurate and high-quality artwork for basic to complex Production assignments to incorporate in final layout.
- In coordination with the client project team incorporates branding guidelines (e.g. photography, text, legal requirements, etc.) into artwork layout (e.g. packaging, circulars, etc.) per client’s technical specifications.
- Apply pre-press printing knowledge in daily routine such as colour separation, trapping, stepping, high-resolution image replacement, barcode replacement.
- Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high quality basic to complex level Artwork, effectively using industry standard software, tools, and Print techniques.
- Performs assigned tasks within the overall Production workflow and assigned budget, according to: Work order specifications, Industry and Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), The Company’s high-quality standards, and The client’s brand guidelines and standards.
- Ensures client project team has most current information about the status of the assigned project(s) by logging and maintaining in project tracking system’s accurate records of: Project plan (sub-project or task) information, Time dedicated to specific project(s), Quality issues.

- Secondary School/ Diploma/ Degree in Art & Design, Graphic Art, Printing Technology, Advertising, Interior Design, Multimedia or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.
- Proven working experience in a Pre-press, Printing, Packaging and Advertising industry is preferred.
- Required skills: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat.
- Desirable skills: Adobe InDesign, Esko.
- Languages required: English written and spoken.
- Ability to interpret concept and/or brand guidelines through to artwork execution (e.g. digital, photographic, etc.).
- Possess good understanding of effective Print, Photo Studio, and/or Digital production, processes, roles, tools (digital and conventional) and workflow practices and trends.

Responsibilities
ABOUT THE POSITION
- Create game art assets to the best quality under supervision in production.
- Deliver work on timely manner to the project specifications and art style requirements.
- Assist art team with various art-related communications.
- Able to take on art briefs and understand the goal of the tasks.
- Work closely with other members of the art team to ensure art assets meet project requirements.
- Seeking support and feedback from team members to improve art skills and artistic output.
- Learn and utilize various software programs and tools for game art creation.
- Participate in planning sessions with art teams to evaluate and estimate own work.
- Integrate 3D creations into Unreal Engine based on project specifications.
- Work with a dynamic team of artists, designers and engineers.
- Degree in Art or related fields.
- Proficient with at least one art style.
- Able to adapt to various art styles, specifically stylized and anime.
- Proficient with 3D software programs, preferably Blender.
- Proficient with Texturing tools, such as Substance Painter and Designer.
- Good overall knowledge of industry standard software package tools and environment art pipelines.
- Experience working with Game Engines, preferably Unreal Engine.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage their own time and work within deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Good communication and English skills.

- Sculpt high-poly character models, retopologize for in-game use, and texture using PBR principles
- Integrate characters into the engine and ensure they function as intended
- Collaborate with other artists and support the team where needed
- Take initiative to continuously improve and expand your technical and artistic skillset
- Solid understanding of human anatomy and form
- Ability to sculpt detailed organic models
- Proficient in ZBrush
- Basic knowledge of retopology for game-ready assets
