Role Description

We are seeking a talented and driven Engineer/Senior Engineer specializing in Data Science & AI, with a strong emphasis on computer vision and machine learning, to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to our pioneering projects in intelligent systems that transform operational data into actionable information that enable End Users to make trusted decisions.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement computer vision algorithms and machine learning models for a range of applications, including object detection, change detection, anomaly detection, multiclass classification, behaviour analysis, and video stitching and scaling.

· Contribute to cross-functional teams developing proof-of-concepts and conduct experiments in realistic environments to validate algorithms, optimize performance, and ensure the robustness of models in real-world applications.

· Able to generate good quality documentation and capture patentable inventions.

· Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision technologies to continually enhance our capabilities.

· Motivated to share knowledge via presentations in internal and external events.

· In the case of a Senior Engineer profile, act as the computer vision subject matter expert and provide technical guidance and mentorship in the team.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with specialisation in Data Science and AI.

· Hands-on experience in computer vision and machine learning, with a diverse portfolio of projects.

· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C, and experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV) and MLOps concepts (e.g. KubeFlow).

· Solid understanding of deep learning architectures and algorithms like CNN and vision transformer, particularly in the context of image and video analysis.

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

· Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Desired Skills:

· Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies.

· Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Contribute to the School in terms of education quality, OBE and accreditation matters
  • Contribute to the curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, especially during the off-semester periods
  • Work closely with the School’s Education Management Office (EMO) for efficient education-related statistics gathering and student progress tracking, especially during the off-semester periods
  • Contribute to the management of education and/or administration in the School, including coaching, mentorship, leadership and effective performance management, where relevant

The Opportunity Level B Teaching Fellows are expected to make solid contributions to teaching and learning within their school. Teaching Fellows at this level may be appointed in recognition of distinction in their disciplinary area. The position is expected to engage in high-quality education and enhancing the student learning experience of the School. S/he will play a strong leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review. S/he will make an outstanding contribution inside and outside of the University, and in engagement with the community and profession, notably in areas related to teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and delivery of innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students Contribute to the School in terms of education quality, OBE and accreditation matters Contribute to the curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, especially during the off-semester periods Work closely with the School’s Education Management Office (EMO) for efficient education-related statistics gathering and student progress tracking, especially during the off-semester periods Contribute to the management of education and/or administration in the School, including coaching, mentorship, leadership and effective performance management, where relevant Contribute to academic service responsibilities, including contributing to outcomes of the discipline and/or school meetings and/or internal committees Contribute to the development of strong collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive excellence and impact of education and student experience Key Selection Criteria: Education/Qualifications A strong record of successful and innovative curriculum development An outstanding record of teaching which demonstrates a commitment to educational innovation Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and leadership Ability to promote the discipline internally within the university as well as externally, both nationally and internationally Eligible to register with the MBOT as a Professional Technologist Eligible to apply for a teaching permit with the Ministry of Education There’s a certain feeling you get from working at Monash University. Contextual Optimization : Build structured prompt templates that maintain tone, compliance, and brand alignment while adapting to various user scenarios—customer service, VIP support, onboarding, etc.

Knowledge Embedding : Fine-tune prompts to integrate internal knowledge bases, game rules, regulatory policies, FAQs, and historical player behavior for more accurate and helpful AI outputs.

Data-Driven Tuning : Analyze AI output quality, hallucination rates, latency, and relevance to iteratively improve prompt structure and effectiveness.

Multi-Modal Coordination : Collaborate with product teams to design prompts for multimodal use cases (text, voice, in-game prompts, live dealer support).

Compliance Alignment : Ensure all prompt outputs adhere to responsible gaming guidelines, legal jurisdictions, and ethical communication standards.

Testing & Versioning : Conduct A/B testing and experiments across multiple prompt variants to determine performance and optimize outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with game designers, customer support leads, and content creators to align AI communication with product and player experience goals.

Requirements

2+ years experience with LLM prompt engineering, NLP model tuning, or AI content development.

Deep understanding of generative AI models (GPT, Claude, PaLM, etc.) and prompt design principles.

Strong command of language, tone, and structured prompt techniques (zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought, etc.).

Ability to interpret AI output and optimize prompts based on relevance, clarity, and factual accuracy.

Experience with tools like LangChain, PromptLayer, or custom LLM orchestration platforms.

Basic scripting or API integration skills (Python preferred).
