The successful candidate will work with Dr Pang Bo on cellulose-based functional materials for food packaging under a project on Innovative Biopolymer-based Bioplastics for Active Food Packaging. The main responsibilities of the position include: a) Design and conduct laboratory experiments related to biopolymer-based bioplastics for food packaging applications. This includes the synthesis, characterization, and performance testing of biopolymer materials. b) Collect, process, and analyze experimental data using appropriate scientific methods and tools. c) Prepare scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentations for dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. d) Provide guidance and supervision to undergraduate students involved in related research projects. e) Contribute to the daily operations of the laboratory, including maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety protocols. Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline: - A Master’s degree or equivalent in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. - Strong academic or research background in biopolymer chemistry, sustainable materials, or bioplastics. Skills: - Proficient in laboratory techniques for polymer synthesis and characterization (e.g., FTIR, DSC, TGA, SEM, tensile testing). - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective scientific writing and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. - Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience: - Prior research experience in biopolymers, biodegradable materials, or sustainable packaging applications is highly preferred. - Experience in preparing manuscripts or technical reports. - Experience supervising or mentoring students is an advantage.

Job Summary:

You shall be responsible for research and development of new products, quality control, technical approvals, control of assigned product/product line from conception, prototyping, product testing, final product launches, meeting financial and corporate growth objectives.

You shall participate proactively in overall product strategy, research and development, and driving development schedules and budgets.

You will work closely with in-house designer or external designer, including all functional groups to develop new products or rejuvenation of existing products. This includes sourcing for manufacturers, negotiating, coordinating and visiting factories for quality control and audits.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop product designs from design staff or manufacturers concepts.

• Review existing products for attribute enhancements and rejuvenation.

• Evaluate and optimize product concepts for technical or mechanical function, manufacturability, packaging and material handling.

• Generate finalised engineering product drawings with critical dimensions, performance specifications, and quality specifications (standards and test procedures).

• Ensures that new products function properly, meet specifications, safety and regulatory standards and timing objectives.

• Gathering data in support of the product profitability assessment or product performance management.
• Conducting research and benchmarking against competitors on new product developments.
• Facilitating the development of the credit program and product programs, including review, renewal and development life-cycle for SME segment.
• Assisting in the development of product bundling and solution packages.
• Maintaining the databases from internal & external sources required for product management.
• Producing the product performance analysis.
• Performs other such roles as may be reasonably required by Product Development team in building effective product solutions.
• To comply with all relevant rules and regulations governing the Bank’s business
• Involved in new product development, variations to product initiatives and quality projects
• Coordinate with team and stakeholders to provide product solutions which include product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle
• Undertake drafting and development of all content for internal and external communication.
• Provide product training to sales/front liners as at when its required.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and relevant working experience in the financial industry.
• Minimum 2 years experience in banking with knowledge in the relevant business.
• Strong business lending products knowledge including Trade and FX.
• Preferably with Business Credit certification.
• Excellent in MS Excel and ability to apply relevant Excel formulas for critical data analysis.
• Must have proven attention to detail, with excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills by conducting root cause analysis and statistical analysis.
• Good at MS Power Point and presentation skill.
• Passion, high level of energy and strong sense of urgency for executing projects.
• Good communication skills and ability to work successfully with minimal supervision and perform under pressure.
