Company Background:

We are representing a well known U.S.-based food manufacturer in Petaling Jaya. As they are expanding, they are looking for a Project Manager to lead and manage capital expenditure projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Project Engineers to ensure successful execution and handover of Capex projects to Production and Maintenance teams.
• Manage and communicate updates on the Site Master Plan and Capex projects to all stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Support Procurement with technical input on designs, capabilities, and specifications.
• Identify, plan, and lead projects of varying complexity using structured Project Management methodologies.
• Define team roles, responsibilities, and expectations; coordinate with Site Support, EHS, and Plant Engineering for safe and timely execution.
• Develop and implement standardized practices for Capital Project execution, ensuring compliance with corporate and local regulations.

Job Requirements

• Minimum with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
• At least 5 years of working experience as Project Manager.
• Demonstrates strong expertise in capital finance and project management, along with solid technical engineering skills in both electrical and mechanical design.
• Good understanding in DOSH and OSHAS standards
• Preferably from Food Manufacturing experience.
• Good communication skill in English.

9. Operate process plants, spray/integration plants, and/or packaging lines to meet process and product specifications, including intermediate/FG tanks and raw material receiving areas.
10. Troubleshoot process problems in the process area, spray/integration plants, and/or packaging lines, including intermediate tanks and raw material receiving areas.
11. Carry out activities from raw material unloading to finished product manufacturing.

Diploma

• Lead Sales Efforts: Manage the full sales cycle for capital equipment, from lead generation to deal closure, across key SEA markets.
• Project Sales: Drive turnkey project sales, including equipment, installation, and commissioning.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (plant managers, operations heads, procurement) in FMCG food companies.
• Technical Advisory: Serve as the technical point of contact; understand customer needs and propose suitable machinery solutions.
• Territory Development: Identify market opportunities, expand the client base, and increase regional market share.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with engineering, project management, and after-sales teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and market intelligence to senior management.
• Exhibitions & Demos: Represent the company at trade shows, technical seminars, and customer demonstrations across the SEA region.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years of capital equipment sales experience.
• Proven track record in turnkey project sales to FMCG food manufacturers.
• Regional Exposure: Demonstrated experience managing sales across multiple SEA countries.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and packaging/processing machinery.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Travel: Willing to travel extensively within Southeast Asia.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local SEA languages is a plus.
