Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and monitor forecasts, budgets, and financial models, support decision making with various analysis and scenario planning.
· Track financial performance, analyze KPIs, and recommend strategies to improve business results.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate financial impact, and analyze profitability.
· Advise business units with financial insights, build strong relationships with non-financial teams.
· Ensure accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with controls.
· Assists business in securing financing facility, dealing on treasury and corporate taxation matters.
· Drive standardization and automation to enhance financial efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with financial regulations, and ability to identify and mitigate risks.
· Liaise with external parties – auditors, tax agents, banks, authorities and etc.
· Work closely with business operating unit teams to align financial strategies with business goals.
· Work closely with HR, Procurement and Service Management teams under Group Shared Service Centre.
What We’re Looking For:
· Possess Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 4 to 7 years relevant experience in a managerial position, especially property development and/or facilities management sector and/or hospitality (hotels & resorts).
· Possess MIA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification with taxation exposure (i.e. RPGT, capital gain tax etc) is an added advantage.
· Strong leadership qualities and personality.
· Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
· Strong financial analysis, problem-solving, writing and communication skills.
· Proficient in the use of financial software and data analytics tools.
· High level of integrity and corporate governance

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Business Partner to join finance team as an individual contributor at our Research & Development (R&D) and Procurement center in Penang. This role will involve key responsibilities in accounting recording, local tax filing, e-invoicing, and providing financial insights and support to the R&D and Procurement teams within the semiconductor industry. As an individual contributor, you will manage all aspects of accounting, tax compliance, and invoicing, ensuring that financial operations are executed efficiently and in compliance with local regulations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and has a strong understanding of local accounting and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Accounting Recording & Financial Reporting:
- Accurately record and maintain all financial transactions related to R&D and Procurement operations, ensuring compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and company policies.
- Prepare and maintain the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process by ensuring proper documentation and reporting of all accounting records.
2.Local Tax Filing & Compliance:
- Oversee the local tax compliance processes, ensuring timely and accurate filing of corporate tax returns, GST/SST (if applicable), Withholding Tax, CP-204 Form, Form E and Form EA and other statutory filings in accordance with Malaysian tax laws.
- Ensure all tax filings, including corporate tax, GST, and other related taxes, are accurate and submitted on time to avoid penalties.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in Malaysian tax regulations and ensure the business remains compliant with all tax obligations.
- Assist in preparing documentation for tax audits and work with external tax consultants as needed.
3.E-Invoicing & Tax Documentation:
- Manage the e-invoicing process for the R&D and Procurement teams, ensuring compliance with Malaysia's e-invoicing regulations (if applicable).
- Ensure that all invoices are processed, issued, and recorded correctly within the e-invoicing system in line with tax and regulatory requirements.
- Validate the accuracy of invoices, ensuring they comply with the required tax regulations, including proper tax codes and documentation.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure that all e-invoices are aligned with contracts, purchase orders, and delivery notes for proper tax reporting.
4.Business Partnering & Financial Insights:
- Serve as the primary finance contact for the R&D and Procurement teams, providing financial insights and advice to help drive better business decisions.
- Support R&D and Procurement teams by analyzing financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing recommendations on optimizing procurement spend and R&D costs.
- Prepare regular financial reports that detail key financial metrics, including budget versus actuals, expenditure tracking, and other performance indicators.
5.Process Improvement & Efficiency:
- Continuously evaluate and streamline financial processes related to accounting recording, tax filing, and e-invoicing, ensuring efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- Implement best practices for accounting and tax compliance within the R&D and Procurement teams, driving automation and improving financial operations.
- Identify areas for improvement in e-invoicing systems and accounting processes, and lead efforts to enhance these systems.
6.Ad-Hoc Financial Projects & Support:

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred).

Job Summary
The Senior Specialist, Finance Business Partner is responsible plays a critical role in driving financial performance, strategic decision-making, and business growth for the Enterprise business segmnet. This role acts as a trusted financial advisor to Enterprise sales, product, and operations teams, ensuring financial objectives align with business goals.
The Day-To-Day Activities
Business Partnering and Performance Monitoring Serve as the trusted finance business partner to the Enterprise sales, product, and operations teams. Provide financial insights to drive revenue growth, assess investment decisions and cost optimisation initiatives. Monitor and report the key financial KPIs such as ARPU, churn rate, gross margin to relevant business segment leaders. Track performance against targets, highlighting risks and opportunities. Passionate about improving financial processes and enhancing business performance. Commercial Finance, Cost Optimisation and Compliance Partner with relevant stakeholders to perform variance analysis and scenario planning to support enterprise growth strategies. Identify cost efficiencies in enterprise service delivery through investment spent to drive working capital improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management Collaborate with enterprise sales, operations, and technology teams to align financial goals with business strategy. Present complex financial data in a simplified manner to provide guidance with data-driven recommendation to the relevant stakeholders in making strategic and commercial decisions. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to financial standards such as MFRS 15 and 16 (revenue recognition, lease accounting) and relevant regulatory requirements. Maintain data integrity and accuracy in financial reports.
About You
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. Professional accounting certification e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIMA is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of working experience with related accounting/finance related functions with at least 3 years of finance business partnering experience. Candidate with external audit (Big 4) experience and/or familiar with telecommunication industry is encouraged to apply. Strong background in business case review, financial modelling and business performance evaluation with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Excel in stakeholder management and able to communicate effectively with relevant business units. Agile and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities to meet required timeline Proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Words, Power points.
