Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Farm Technician/Engineer in Malaysia. The Farm Technician/Engineer will be responsible for the installation of poultry farm equipment, including maintaining and operating farm equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. They will ensure all technological systems are functioning properly. Coordination with other team members to meet production targets and supporting farm infrastructure maintenance are key responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Understanding of farm operations
- Skills in operating and maintaining farm equipment
- Experience with implementing safety and sanitation standards
- Technical skills in managing computer-controlled systems and automated machinery
- Experience in equipment installation
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Preferably a degree or diploma in engineering or a related field
- Experience in poultry farming or similar agricultural settings is a plus
- Good communication skills

- Responsible to assist in production management of the farm;
- Responsible to answerable to the loss rate of livestock and feed management to achieve cost effectiveness;
- Responsible in ensuring continuous improvement efforts to achieve higher profitability of the farm;

- Responsible in utilization of medicine, vaccination, feeds and day old chicks supply to ensure smooth cultivation process;
- Maintain proper records of goods delivered such as feed, day-old chicks, medicine, consumables items etc. from suppliers and office as planned to respective farm;
- Responsible to for the safe work environment of the farm and the farm equipment/hardware are in operational conditions;
- Responsible in training of farm workers for proper farming;
- To monitor the animal condition, conduct post mortem on the animal to take pictures on it, knowing the skills of sampling method, and implement control measures at farms for chicken health;
- To monitor foods consume and utilization of supplements to ensure they are safe and beneficial to health within company policies and standards;
- Monitor and record the hygiene of farm and productivity;
- Audit the use of vaccine and procedure for vaccination;
- Responsible to prepare technical report at related tasks;
- Accept any other ad-hoc duties assignment from superior when needed.
- Preferably with Bachelor or Diploma in Animal Husbandry/ Science or equivalent;
- Working knowledge in farm production and management;
- Good knowledge of providing technical advice in livestock farming;
- Able to contribute to the bottom line through effective strategic farm management

We are seeking for skilled and reliable Farm Maintenance Technician in Poultry Operations to support the smooth operation of our poultry farming facilities. This role involves hands-on maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring power backup readiness, supporting equipment installation for new farms, and executing infrastructure-related projects. The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically competent, and committed to minimizing operational downtime. Two positions available.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Maintenance Support
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical and mechanical systems across the farm. Be available to respond to emergency breakdowns during and after working hours.
2. Power Supply Continuity
Operate and maintain standby generator systems to ensure consistent power supply during utility outages, avoiding interruptions to farm operations.
3. Routine Equipment Servicing
Carry out scheduled inspections, servicing, and basic repairs of farm machinery, equipment, and systems to improve reliability and lifespan.
4. Monitoring and Upkeep
Regularly assess the performance of all farm utilities and equipment, taking preventive measures to maintain efficient operation.
5. Maintenance Record-keeping
Assist in keeping accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for tracking and compliance purposes.
6. Safety & Compliance Monitoring
Ensure all maintenance work and equipment installations comply with workplace safety standards, operational guidelines, and relevant regulations.
7. Coordination of New Farm Equipment Installation
Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of equipment and systems for new poultry farms. Ensure installations are completed according to technical specifications and safety standards.
8. Process Improvement
Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and farm infrastructure to enhance overall productivity and reduce downtime.
9. Project Execution
Support farm renovation or infrastructure upgrade projects by executing assigned tasks, ensuring timely and quality completion under the supervision of the project manager.
10. General Responsibilities
Perform any other tasks or assignments as directed by management, based on operational requirements.
Requirements:
· Diploma or Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
· Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, preferably within poultry or agricultural operations.
· Good understanding of 3 phase electrical system, generator systems, motor control, water pump, basic wiring, and mechanical troubleshooting.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and respond effectively to emergencies.
· A team player with good communication and coordination abilities.
· Physically fit and comfortable working in farm environments
· Capable of reading technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications (added advantage).
· Prior experience in livestock or poultry facility maintenance is an added advantage.
