As a Manager I, supporting Process Engineering, you will be primarily responsible for leading a team to design, develop, and implement efficient production processes, ensuring productivity and compliance with regulations at Johor, Malaysia. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Lead the calibration team to provide calibration support for all equipment, machinery and instrument in the plant to ensure all registered items remain in calibrated state
- Perform calibration datasheet/ certificate review, IMTE registration and support ad-hoc calibration activities.
- Arrange and monitor 3rd party calibration activities such as request quotation, raise purchase requisition (PR), follow up PO progress, service request report closure, shipment progress, arrange schedule for on-site calibration job and deal with vendor for any calibration issues
- Lead improvement projects for continuous improvement such as cost savings, process optimization and improve process efficiency
- Investigate persistent quality issues of the calibration process , IMTE and provide appropriate Corrective/ Preventive actions
- Assist Manager for yearly budget planning, monitor department spending and ensure on time submission of monthly forecast spending to Finance in monthly basis
- To be responsible for training (eg SOP, annual refresher), Initial Qualification/ Requalification , annual curricula review and coordination with QA Compliance
- Establish and ensure SOPs and documentation are compliance with Data Integrity, OSHA, ISO 13485, GxP, and other applicable international regulations
- Adherence to Alcon values and behaviors, observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Code of Business Conducts, and Alcon Health, Safety and Environment Standards
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing fields or
- Diploma in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing fields with minimum 10 years of experience in calibration or manufacturing environment
- 8 years of experience in managing team of engineers and technicians to lead calibration activities in manufacturing environment

Production/Manufacturing Operations: Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs to meet marketplace demand. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Resolves issues related to the organisation's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations. Follows established procedures and respects Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) concerning quality, safety and hygiene. Job Family Group - Manufacturing: Responsible for the organisation's manufacturing and/or production operations including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging. Sets production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources, and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.
Job Purpose
Responsible for the setup, operation, shutdown and cleaning of the required lines, equipments and manufacturing process properly in accordance with established Company’s and Regulatory Authorities policy such as GMP and Environment, Safety and Health procedures
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform EHS start up checks before starting production activities, adhere to LOTO procedure, follow safety guidelines as trained and raise ZAPs.
2. Perform packing activities, startup checks, in process checks and submit samples for quality control testing and retain samples, document them as per the instructions in the Master Packing Batch Record (MPBR).
3. Perform operation, line clearance, cleaning and changeover as per the standard operating procedure, work instruction, visual display and other instructional materials as trained.
4. Perform recording as per Good Documentation Practice and follow principles of ALCOA in Batch Documents, logbooks
5. Be accountable for and proactively complete the assigned mylearning ( classroom training, elearning, On Job Training ) before due date.
6. Escalate issues to First Line Leader as per escalation procedure to ensure quick resolution of issues.
7. Support Total Production Maintenance (TPM) activities such as ICLT and support improvements projects (CIF) and any deviation or product complaints.
8. Perform SAP transactions related to packing eg: materials received, good issue of materials, and good receipts of finished goods
Knowledge/ Education / Experience Required
- Possess at least SPM Qualification
- Fair command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
- To understand the document including
SOP/WI/MBR/MPBR

- Metal moulders and coremakers make moulds and cores for casting metal.
- Tasks include assist senior supervisor in:
- Making moulds by hand or using auxiliary machines on a bench for small metal castings, on the foundry floor, or in a pit for large castings;
- Making cores for use in metal moulds;
- Cleaning and smoothing moulds, core boxes, and repairing surface imperfections;
- Moving and positioning work pieces such as mould sections, patterns and bottom boards, using cranes, or signalling others to move work pieces;
- Positioning patterns inside mould sections and clamping sections together;
- Cutting spouts, runner holes and sprue holes into moulds;
- Lifting upper mould sections from lower sections and remove moulded patterns.
- Machine maintenance
- Co-ordinate with other colleagues in completing tasks
- Perform cleaning duty roster in maintaining cleanliness of factory
- Metal Fabrication, welding, Stamping, installation of mould, Quality Control (QC), packing, tapping
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is an added advantages.
- Prior working experience will be an added advantage.
- Fresh graduates and PMR or SPM leavers are welcome to apply.
- Prefer candidates with qualifications equivalent to or below Diploma level.
