In line with our increasing business, we are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant for our renewable energy and thermal power projects in Malaysia.

Job Description

  • Lead and support environmental aspect of environmental and social (E&S) feasibility studies for energy sector projects (natural gas, LNG to Power, biomass, Waste to Energy, wind, solar, hybrid, etc.) and potential other sectors e.g. infrastructure.
  • Lead and support environmental and social due diligence studies for energy sector projects and potential other sectors.
  • Lead and support as lenders environmental and social advisor during the construction and operation of energy sector projects and potential other sectors, including supporting consultations with Project Affected Persons and other stakeholders in Malaysia.
  • Perform the role as Project Manager for Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and the development E&S Management Plans. Provide guidance on environmental matters, including regulatory E&S requirements during the ESIA process.
  • Support Clients to develop and implement Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS).
  • Contribute to business development by providing strategic advice on environmental and social issues to existing and potential clients, including the preparation of marketing material.
  • Preparation of proposals (technical and financial) for environmental social services.
  • Support other AFRY E&S staff in the region and contribute to work outside of the region when opportunities arise.
  • Enforce ethics and compliance in accordance with AFRY Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Higher professional degree in environmental science, engineering or related field (B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D.).
  • 8+ years’ experience in environmental consulting / management.
  • Experience in the preparation of ESIAs and E&S Management Plans for renewable and thermal power projects.
  • Experience in performing Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) for renewable and thermal power projects.
  • Track record of project managing environmental and social services for renewable and thermal power projects.
  • Knowledge of potential social issues i.e. labor issues, resettlement and livelihood issues would be an advantage, including experience in undertaking stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian regulatory E&S requirements and international E&S standards and guidelines i.e. Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, WBG EHS Guidelines, ADB Safeguards etc.
  • The willingness to travel to other countries inside and outside the region to support environmental and social services.
  • Fluency in Malay and English.
  • Excellent report writing, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with people from a range of cultures.
  • Ability to work independently.

Job Description

Carbon & Energy Governance

  • Ensure full understanding and implementation of SEAM standards related to energy and carbon, particularly for reporting, data requirements, and quality assurance.

  • Support the development and continuous update of the NZE Toolkit with validated energy consumption data (per fuel type), carbon calculations, benchmarking outputs, and investment screening outcomes.

  • Ensure both operational and embodied carbon calculations are conducted for all applicable projects throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Sustainability Integration

  • Collaborate with the Central Sustainability Lead and project teams to provide inputs into Project Charters, Investment Screening, and Carbon Calculations.

  • Review and validate that Project Charters include correct CO₂ and EUI (Energy Use Intensity) targets, as well as appropriate building certification pathways (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).

  • Engage with Portfolio Managers to confirm alignment on sustainability targets and delivery pathways.

Carbon Performance & Benchmarking

  • Conduct carbon forecasting and savings analysis for projects to assess the reduction potential in both energy use and carbon emissions (operational and embodied).

  • Benchmark asset performance against science-based targets using tools such as the CRREM (Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor), and assess alignment with Paris Agreement objectives.

  • Support investment screening processes to evaluate the carbon vs cost trade-offs for planned sustainability interventions.

Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all projects undergo Lessons Learned reviews, with a dedicated section addressing sustainability targets, achievements, and improvement areas.

  • Share key insights and findings with the Central OE (Operational Excellence) Team and the Sustainability Centre of Expertise (CfE) to contribute to targeted learning programs and best practice sharing.

Risk and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to SEAM standards in relation to risk management, sustainability target setting, and environmental reporting (including carbon, waste, water, circularity, and biodiversity).

  • Gather and validate all required sustainability data during key delivery stages to inform accurate and up-to-date operational/embodied carbon assessments.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline

  • Minimum 6 years of working experience with at least 2 years of solid experience in sustainability project management, carbon assessment, or similar roles

  • Strong understanding of carbon accounting methodologies (operational & embodied) and energy benchmarking tools (e.g., CRREM)

  • Experience with green building certification systems (LEED, BREEAM, etc.) and investment screening frameworks

  • Proficient in energy and carbon reporting standards, ideally within a real estate or industrial asset management context

  • Excellent stakeholder coordination, data management, and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of SEAM standards or equivalent internal ESG frameworks is a strong advantage

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Assistant Sustainability Manager to support the execution of our sustainability strategies, policies and initiatives.   • Lead and provide guidance to the junior members of the sustainability department

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or related functions
  • Familiarity with sustainability standards and frameworks (e.g. GRI, TCFD, IFRS, UN SDGs, ISO, MSCI, etc.) is an advantage
  • A candidate with clean energy industry experience will be preferred
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, project management and people management skills
  • Effective communicator with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills

Job Description

  • Develop a carbon offset programme in line with the sustainability framework of the Group
  • Analyse and audit the companys activities in line with our stated sustainability pillars, and making recommendations to revise them.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the companys purchasing, manufacturing, shipping, supply chain, waste management and other similar processes as they relate to sustainability and ensuring compliance with stated ESG goals.
  • Identifying all areas where the company can lessen its environmental impact and making recommendations relating to them.
  • Writing reports that detail the results and evaluations of research; presenting that information to management with recommendations for research-based modifications
  • Setting guidelines that govern the interplay between the organisation and the surrounding environment.
  • Leading training sessions and workshops on sustainability practices and policies to educate and influence employees
  • Identify relevant certifications or endorsements for the companys sustainability initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Relevant experience in the area of driving sustainability programmes for a diverse and global organization is critical
  • Knowledgeable about ESG trends in different sectors
  • Professional membership in a relevant organization is an advantage
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective and professional rapport with all stakeholders in executing duties.

Description

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Assistant Sustainability Manager to support the execution of our sustainability strategies, policies and initiatives. This role plays a key part in advancing our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving impactful sustainability projects across the Solarvest group.

  • Lead and manage the development and implementation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies, framework, roadmap, plans, initiatives, metrics and KPIs.
  • Continuously conduct strategic analysis on ESG policies and best practices, mapping the Group’s existing initiatives to the applicable ESG frameworks by incorporating forward-looking scenarios that consider the impact of sustainability risks and opportunities on business strategy.
  • Manage and oversee the identification and implementation of ESG initiatives.
  • Oversee ESG impact metrics tracking, consolidate data and provide perspective on ESG key metrics to keep management informed and for strategic decision-making.
  • Facilitate the preparation of the Group’s sustainability report, including materiality assessment, stakeholders’ engagement, data collection and report drafting.
  • Communicate sustainability initiatives or info to all employees to increase awareness and create a mindshare across the Group.
  • Lead and provide guidance to the junior members of the sustainability department.
  • Collaborate with other functions/departments to support the development and implementation of policies and guidelines related to the sustainability initiatives.
  • Establish a strong network and coordinate discussions with sustainability practitioners, professionals, consultants, government agencies and regulatory bodies.


Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or related functions.
  • Familiarity with sustainability standards and frameworks (e.g. GRI, TCFD, IFRS, UN SDGs, ISO, MSCI, etc.) is an advantage.
  • A candidate with clean energy industry experience will be preferred.
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, project management and people management skills.
  • Effective communicator with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passionate about environmental, social and governance impact with a continuous improvement mindset

Are you passionate about shaping and driving sustainable initiatives that make a real impact?

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Sustainability Manager to join our team in the APAC region. Based in our Kuala Lumpur office, you will be responsible for leading our sustainability programs, ensuring compliance with both local and global environmental, health, and safety standards, and driving continuous improvements across the organization.

In this key role, you will report directly to Clement Chang , CEO of APAC & Middle East, and collaborate across teams to ensure that our operations align with Metizoft’s global sustainability goals while addressing local market needs. Your leadership will be instrumental in advancing our commitment to sustainability and ensuring we make meaningful strides in improving environmental and safety practices across the APAC and Middle East regions.


Responsibilities

  • Liaise with external clients and their stakeholders to gather information and data to implement sustainability reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop software tools required to implement sustainability reporting for clients.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop company’s internal sustainability strategies.
  • Adopt sustainability frameworks to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and create appropriate deliverables.
  • Contribute to projects across different client sectors, within budget and meeting deadlines.
  • Conduct research on sustainability related topics and regional requirements.
  • Analyse and provide insight from data, measure performance and conduct gap analysis against industry indices and best practices.
  • Support business development efforts through presentations and demonstrations.
  • Conduct regular trainings and updates sessions for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Assist with any other ad hoc duties assigned by the management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the Sustainability Reporting and Carbon Accounting field
  • A passion in sustainability and willingness to learn.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Studies can be a combination of environment, carbon, sustainability, engineering/science, and/or economics/finance.
  • Commitment to excellence in quality of work and client satisfaction.
  • Effective oral and written communication in English.
  • Problem solver and creative thinker.
  • Excellent PC literacy, especially in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative, as well as operate effectively as part of a team.
  • Certification in GRI, SASB, TCFD, GHG accounting or related fields will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and certification on developing Product Carbon Footprint and Life Cycle Assessment will be an advantage.
  • Successful candidate will be based in our office in KL (Bukit Bintang) and report to the CEO, APAC & Middle East in Singapore; occasional travelling will be required.
