Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain the site's Chemical Register and ensure all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up-to-date and accessible as per CLASS Regulations 2013.
  • Conduct regular inspections of chemical storage areas, waste holding areas, and pollution control equipment.

Legal and Management System Compliance

  • Stay current with all applicable Malaysian EHS laws and regulations and ensure the facility's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
  • Act as a key liaison with regulatory bodies such as the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH/JKKP), Department of Environment (DOE/JAS), and the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA).
  • Assist in maintaining the ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) certifications.
  • Prepare and submit all mandatory EHS reports to government agencies in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Daily monitoring, logging, and handling of IETS operations – highlighting all findings to EHS and Facilities Manager. (IETS – Industrial Effluent Treatment Plants) – According to DOE requirements.
