The Engineering Technician cooperates with his / her superior to ensure the normal operation of hotel equipment. This role is responsible for the general work order maintenance work assigned by his / her superior or assisting the Engineering department’s maintenance team in completing other maintenance work.

What will I be doing?

As the Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Strictly adhere to staff rules and regulations, the Management and commands from your superiors.

• Strictly implement the rules and regulations, operate carefully, and ensure the safe operation of the equipment.

• Ensure the normal operation of the hotel's daily power supply, water supply, gas supply, heating and cooling equipment.

• Inspect the equipment operation records and shift handover records promptly and accurately.

• Inspect and maintain the equipment and facilities under your jurisdiction.

• Save energy and control energy consumption.

• Follow-up with maintenance works for banquets and meetings, ensuring that the hotel’s banquet and meeting equipment works well.

• Regularly test run the generator as required to ensure power generation and transmission during power failure.

• Perform other tasks assigned by the Management.

• Supervise and inspect the hotel’s Fire department’s fire preventive works and take proper measures to stop any violation of the fire prevention works.

• Supervise and train technicians and apprentices in their duties, their development of skills and knowledge, preparing them for eligibility to higher grades.

• Manage working tools and register team members’ names upon usage of the tools.

• Responsible for recommending disciplinary action for assigned subordinates.

• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Where You Come In

• You will be dealing with Excimer laser process which includes but not limited to laser alignment, laser energy verification & calibration, hazardous gases, leak test, optics cleaning, HV (high voltage) parts maintenance, chemicals and pneumatics.
• You are accountable for machine troubleshooting and preventive/corrective maintenance in timely matters.
• You will utilize schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts, or defined plans to conduct testing, checkout, and solving tasks
• You analyse and document test results, preparing written reports
• You perform equipment-related activities in development projects under the supervision of the project engineer, including the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes, and electronics, as well as completing engineering studies and validations
• You adhere to Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program
• You assume and perform additional duties as assigned
• You finish the tasks in compliance with safety requirements
• You update equipment-related documentation (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed
• You are proficient in using hand and power tools, multimeters, amp meters, manufacturing test equipment, and calipers

We are hiring a highly dedicated Process Engineering Technician who will handle all maintenance matters related to process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling used by Production at our Medical Device/Pharmaceutical sector .

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete maintenance activities without undue delay and record these activities in PEMAC or relevant system/ document.
• Assist in maintaining spare parts for process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling used by Production.
• Assist to supervise and facilitate vendor’s work related to process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling used by Production when vendor is required to work onsite.
• Assist in the qualification works of process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling used by Production.
• Perform verification activities for process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling that has been returned from repair or service, before returning to Production for use.
• Perform troubleshooting and/or testing activities on process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling.
• Responsible to handle any process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling with care when performing assigned task.
• Responsible to highlight to Superior on unfamiliar/ uncommon situation encountered when performing assigned task.
• Uphold all safety and health measures when carrying out assigned task.
• Authorize to stop the operation or withdraw any process equipment/ jig/ fixture/ tooling used by Production that is found faulty or deemed not safe to be used.

Key Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Technical Certificate / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• At least 1-2 year(s) of hands-on working experience in production machine operational & maintenance activities is required for this position, preferably in Medical Device industry .
• Have similar experience working in cleanroom environment .
• Able to work in a team under minimum supervision.
• Proactive and resourceful.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Where You Come In

You will be dealing with Excimer laser process which includes but not limited to laser alignment, laser energy verification & calibration, hazardous gases, leak test, optics cleaning, HV (high voltage) parts maintenance, chemicals and pneumatics. You are accountable for machine troubleshooting and preventive/corrective maintenance in timely matters. You will utilize schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts, or defined plans to conduct testing, checkout, and solving tasks You analyse and document test results, preparing written reports You perform equipment-related activities in development projects under the supervision of the project engineer, including the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes, and electronics, as well as completing engineering studies and validations You adhere to Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program You assume and perform additional duties as assigned You finish the tasks in compliance with safety requirements You update equipment-related documentation (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed You are proficient in using hand and power tools, multimeters, amp meters, manufacturing test equipment, and calipers
