Requirements for this position include full familiarity with electrical systems arrangements, equipment types, electrical system protection components, electrical switchgear automation and control components, onsite power generation, and critical power distribution. The electrical Reliability Engineer understands potential system failures and extended effects of those failures, appropriate failure response actions, as well as maintenance and electrical testing techniques.
Also required is an understanding of electrical system theory, an ability to read drawings and schematics, and an ability to identify likely failure points in design. The electrical reliability engineer acts as an advisor for Site Operations to reference as needed and has enough experience to train technicians to the level of effective troubleshooting. The mechanical systems Reliability Engineer regularly interfaces the Vantage Design Engineering team, the Automation Systems Group, and Facility Operations teams.

Design maintenance programs to maximize equipment operability and efficiency while minimizing life cycle costs.
Understand potential equipment failures and provide full technical support Facility Operations teams in the event of a critical system failure.
Conduct root cause analysis reviews with site teams and key OEM vendors and develop a corrective action program.
Provide systems reliability and maintainability feedback to the Design Engineering teams for future design considerations.
Work with Design Engineering and Construction teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
Review construction equipment submittals, identify potential deficiencies, and evaluate maintenance feasibility.

Attend factory witness testing to verify and validate equipment functionality

Implement energy saving measures to improve the overall PUE of the system.

Design maintenance programs to minimize maintenance complexity and reduce maintenance down time.
Validate maintenance performance by analyzing trends, operational history, and maintenance data.
Design appropriate site response procedures based on potential critical system failures.

Job Description
The Director Project Engineering role requires comprehensive Project Engineering (Eng), Management, and business expertise. The Director Project Engineering leads through subordinate managers of managers and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy. They direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems that have implications beyond their Function. The Director Project Engineering applies broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance and influence customer relationships.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Instill and promote a "Safety as a Value" culture
+ Administrative and technical management of the Project Engineering Department
+ Establish a budget and salary plan for the department
+ Identify and recruit staff for Project Engineering positions
+ Maintain staffing levels appropriate to the projected workload
+ Provide leadership and training for the professional development of staff
+ Identify and correct performance gaps
+ Maintain Company processes and procedures related to Project Execution
+ Allocate resources to provide quality, on time and cost-effective deliverables for projects and proposals
+ Responsible for the integrity of the work produced
+ Responsible for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control
+ Ensure work is being coordinated with the other departments, offices, fabrication, and construction to meet project requirements
+ Ensure proactive and effective management of change
+ Monitor project performance and provide input and support as required
+ Participate in monthly Project Reviews
+ Execute Project Engineering Assessment (PEA) for Project Engineering
+ Support proposal development
+ Support the Lessons Learned process and continuous improvement initiatives of the company
+ Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
+ Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
+ Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an engineering discipline
+ Minimum 15 years of Project Engineering and/or Engineering Management experience
+ Demonstrates a broad technical knowledge of detailed design engineering codes and standards
+ Familiar with detailed engineering and design work procedures and processes
+ Able to read and understand contractual documentation
+ Able to effectively communicate with and lead engineers and non-engineers
+ Licensed Professional Engineer
+ Membership in related Professional Organization(s)
+ Field assignment experience
+ Experience in International Projects
+ Experience with multi-office (MOPEX) execution
+ Experience in execution as part of a Joint Venture or Consortium Group
+ Experience developing proposals and contractual documentation
+ Experience acting in a PMT role for projects
+ Experience in revamping (Brownfield) and grassroots (Greenfield) projects
