General Description

Assist in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of hospital facilities and engineering systems. Perform routine inspections and minor corrective maintenance of the hospital's mechanical, electrical, and civil systems to ensure smooth and safe operation.

Job Description

  • Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks for electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and building systems.
  • Support Senior Technicians and Chargeman in executing scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) works.
  • Respond to service requests and attend to minor faults or breakdowns within the hospital facility.
  • Record and report faults, maintenance activities and the condition of equipment to the superior.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hospital engineering SOPs during work execution.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of plant rooms, equipment areas, and tools.
  • Assist in setting up and supporting hospital events including electrical or equipment needs.

Education

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.

Knowledge And Experiences

  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience in a hospital, building maintenance, or engineering environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and building systems.

Skills & Competencies

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of safety standards in hospital or healthcare environments is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and during emergency situations.

Personal Attributes

  • Willing to learn and improve technical skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work in different hospital areas (including plant rooms, rooftops, etc.).
  • Able to work in a team and follow supervision.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform and support specific biomedical equipment maintenance activities at hospital premises under his responsibilities including testing and commissioning, warranty management, scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, asset decommission, advisory services, user training, vendor management, parts delivery to comply with the hospital support service’s contract agreement and safety requirement.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Quality, Safety, Health and environment activities (Quality Assurance Program, Risk Management, Hazard Alert and Recall, Handling Hazardous Equipment) as per contract agreement.
  • Drive service compliance such as ISO 13485:2016, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14971:2018, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007and 6S audit to achieve company’s strategy and corporate score card.
  • Implement cost saving activities to achieve company financial annual target.
  • Ensure Deduction Formula and Penalty for related equipment does not exceed company’s target by performing activities such as repair of equipment less than seven (7) working days including communication with vendors, work order response less than 15 minutes (emergency) and 2 hours (normal call), planned preventive maintenance completed before target date, ensure equipment are functioning and maintained as per specified uptime target and testing and commissioning and warranty management completed as per schedule according to contract.
  • Provide on job training to technical personnel to build up staff’s competency level.
  • Produce reports related to specific biomedical equipment (Engineering Operation Data, Condition Appraisal, Technical Report) using ASIS in line with contract’s agreement.
  • Drive state holder management (external -Contractor Performance Assessment and Customer Satisfaction Survey, internal – headquarters, vendor etc.) effectively by providing excellent services to maintain good relationship and achieve high customer satisfaction level as per Key Performance Indicator (KPI) set by Company and Ministry of Health.


Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or related Engineering.
  • At least 2 - 5 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Certificate of Competency from the corresponding manufacturer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia or Malaysian Board of Technologies
  • Preferable candidates with the hospital’s support services experience.

Job Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform and support specific biomedical equipment maintenance activities at hospital premises under his responsibilities including testing and commissioning, warranty management, scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, asset decommission, advisory services, user training, vendor management, parts delivery to comply with the hospital support service’s contract agreement and safety requirement. Ensure all activities comply with Quality, Safety, Health and environment activities (Quality Assurance Program, Risk Management, Hazard Alert and Recall, Handling Hazardous Equipment) as per contract agreement. Drive service compliance such as ISO 13485:2016, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14971:2018, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007and 6S audit to achieve company’s strategy and corporate score card. Implement cost saving activities to achieve company financial annual target. Ensure Deduction Formula and Penalty for related equipment does not exceed company’s target by performing activities such as repair of equipment less than seven (7) working days including communication with vendors, work order response less than 15 minutes (emergency) and 2 hours (normal call), planned preventive maintenance completed before target date, ensure equipment are functioning and maintained as per specified uptime target and testing and commissioning and warranty management completed as per schedule according to contract. Provide on job training to technical personnel to build up staff’s competency level. Produce reports related to specific biomedical equipment (Engineering Operation Data, Condition Appraisal, Technical Report) using ASIS in line with contract’s agreement. Drive state holder management (external -Contractor Performance Assessment and Customer Satisfaction Survey, internal – headquarters, vendor etc.) effectively by providing excellent services to maintain good relationship and achieve high customer satisfaction level as per Key Performance Indicator (KPI) set by Company and Ministry of Health.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or related Engineering. At least 2 - 5 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. Certificate of Competency from the corresponding manufacturer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia or Malaysian Board of Technologies Preferable candidates with the hospital’s support services experience.
