ROLE: DC Engineering Mgr (office engineer) Overall RoleResponsible in managing the M&E services and ensure the effectiveness of overall planned preventive

To achieve excellence in preventative and reactive maintenance programs incorporating industry best practice, including site setup documentation, innovative maintenance techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Oversee the day-to-day management and control of all plant, mechanical and electrical systems and co-ordinate the remedial action in the event of critical incidents. To provide supervision and direction to multi skilled Engineering Operations and teams made up of directly employed staff and appointed vendors. Ensure that all staff and vendors employed within the client’s facilities strictly adhere to client and JLL’s policies and procedures. Reports to the account based Plant Supervisor (DC Site Lead).
Facility Management (Operation & Maintenance)
- To assist in the implementation of operation related standards and procedures, preventive & planned maintenance program, repair & replacement initiative program and helpdesk management. Minimizing the risk of plant failure.
- Recommend continuous management initiatives and energy management plan. Actively search-out opportunities to achieve better or best results and increase the energy efficiency (PUE – Power Utilization Efficiencies).
- To create and update the site asset register and ensure the statutory compliance are in place.
- Review stock levels of the required inventory of spares on site
- Recommend continuous management initiatives and energy management plan.
- Sound written and oral communication skill. Good presentation skills required for client review meeting.
- Managing ad-hoc related projects
- Competent in under taking Job Hazards Analysis (JHA)
- To submit relevant reporting data and ensure timely submission to Facilities Manager
- To provide 2nd level support and manage the site operation in the absence of Facilities Manager
HSE Management
- To ensure the site provision of safe working environment and compliance to HSE standards.
- Competent in under taking Job Hazards Analysis (JHA)
- Support the HSE Champion.
- Work closely with HSE Executive in overall planning, executing and delivering HSE procedures to all activities at site.
- Procurement & Vendor Management
- To conduct performance assessment of technical vendors and ensure the delivery are as per agreed SLA/KPI
- To assist the team and ensure vendor procurement processes are in compliance to both Client and JLL guidelines
- Technical Team Management
- To prepare the job descriptions for all technical staff and assign relevant manpower to specific task
- Provide advice to the technical team and overall management of their work schedule
- To prepare the job description for Helpdesk Administrator and ensure the SLA/KPI are adhered to with superior customer service management
- Provide training to on-site teams on equipment operational procedures, including emergency procedures and requirements.
- Co-ordinate and maintain the site asset database, provide updates in accordance with CMMS requirements.
- Prepare and provide input to the site’s monthly reporting for client.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations on fire, health and safety standards.
- Ensure all safety procedures, including Crisis Management/ Business Continuity and Emergency Procedures are maintained at all times.
- Ensure that maintenance documentation meets the required standards and sufficient information is provided to operate an effective asset management regiment.
- Participate in site reviews, including maintenance standards, equipment replacement, security, change control, single points of failure, Tier adherence and operational risk.
- To perform additional tasks as required by the Site Lead.
Qualifications and Ideal Experiences
- Tertiary Qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline.
- 3 - 4 years of relevant experience in engineering or critical environment space.
- Having 33KV Chargeman Certificate will be an advantage
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility.
- Excellent people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client and vendor staff.
- Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives, client relationship and preparation of reports.
- Hands-on experiences and knowledge in M&E and building related systems, eg CRAU, chillers, PDU, UPS, Switch Gears Ops, DX cooling, Network structure cabling, Security
- Lead major DC activities during non-office hours where appropriate.

- Compliance: Ensure that electrical systems and installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Documentation: Contribute to project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with project teams, operations staff, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Site Assessment: Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility, identify potential issues, and develop solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during project execution, ensuring operational reliability and safety.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure that electrical systems meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating potential risks related to electrical systems and installations.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and training to project teams and operations staff, as needed.
- Candidate must be bi-lingual in English and Mandarin.
- Be based in Taiwan.
- Be in the field directly at the project site.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Built up working experience can be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with high voltage substation projects.
- Experience and knowledge of all of the main HSE project management concepts, tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team.
- Strong leadership, communication & interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of relevant local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
- Computer/IT knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project tool, Conference call and Internet skills.

Our worldwide field engineering team apply expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling the enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps and a wide range of associated technologies. We are experts in the whole open source stack, from kernel to desktop, from cloud to the edge. Our team is also interested in business problems - building things reliably, efficiently and cost-effectively, and we have to learn to speak the language of our customers and their industries.
We help global companies embrace public and private cloud infrastructure, cloud native operations, and open source applications. For this team we are looking for several Alliances Engineers to support OEM (hardware manufacturers), GSI (global system integrators), ISV (independent software vendors), Channel partners and Public Cloud alliance partners. You will support various alliances and partners of Canonical to adopt our products and technologies, help business leaders to define joint go-to-market programs with partners from the technical standpoint.
We often say that our field engineers have 'the hardest job at Canonical' because customers can ask about any aspect of our solutions and products and expect a thoughtful, well-informed answer. We always want to do the best thing for our partners and customers, regardless of our company interests, and field engineers are the people we trust to ensure that is true.
Location : This is a home-based role, we are hiring worldwide.
What your day will look like
- Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking and services in real-world environments
- Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX
- Help partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of the public clouds and in the data center
- Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners
- Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with various partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions
What we are looking for in you
- Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, software automation
- Experience designing and implementing solutions on top of public or private clouds
- Python and bash understanding, troubleshooting skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High motivation, ability to multi-task and follow-up reliably on commitments
- Interest in customer-facing engagement, including pitching, demonstrating and understanding customer environment and needs
- Interest in new technologies like LXD, Juju and Snaps
- Ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field experience

Turner and Townsend are seeking a
Field Mechanical Engineer
to
be in the field based in Taiwan.
The position requires
bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese.
In the position, you will use your engineering expertise to provide technical construction support, oversee the construction, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems in the field, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with project specifications for the high voltage substation project.
