The Design Engineer is responsible to provide technical support to business development (BD) and project execution by provide or review technical proposal and other deliverable to ensure the technical conformance & compliance is met.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering field (Electrical engineering background would be an advantage)

• Basic knowledge to use MS Office, PDF
• Familiar to Autocad and PVSyst
• Familiar to Sketchup would be an advantage
• Detail oriented & Problem solving

• Actively supports and coaches team members.
• Knowledgeable about the Gutor UPS solution (XXW, SDC, PXP, etc.) and is the first point of contact related to technical questions raised by the Project
• Manager. For complex and/or large projects you will be supported either by Application Designer, Application Design Engineer, Application Design Manager, Customer Project Technical Leader or Customer Project Technical Manager.

Authority

• To apply and secure boiler design approval from 3rd inspecting party and JKKP.
• To issue Fabrication drawings to Workshop/Contractors.

Responsibilities

• Check and verify Boiler Specification Record (BSR) against customer requirements in sales contract.
• Perform product stress calculation and drawings according to BSR, Boiler and Unfired Pressure Vessel (UPV) design code (BS1113/ASME) Sec. 1 or Sec. V111 Div. 1) and statutory regulations (FMA. 1967).
• Liaise with 3rd inspecting party and JKKP for securing Boiler or UPV design approval.
• Keep records on Boiler or UPV design approval in engineering server.
• Ensure accuracy of the engineering design output from designer or draughtsman.
• Issue fabrication drawings to workshop/contractors and register it into engineering server ‘Transmittal Record’.
• Schedule Design Plan to meet product on-time delivery.
• Site visit and improve existing boiler design as required.
• Provide boiler technical data/information as required by internal customers (internal customer includes project/production/QC/Sales team).

Experience / Skills Required

• Degree in Mechanical/Structural/Chemical Engineering recognized by Board of Engineering (BEM).
• Engineering knowledge in heat transfer, combustion, strength of material and fluid mechanics.
• Knowledge in engineering drawing and able to operate CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/SolidWorks 3D).
• Accumulated experience on the process of boiler fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance.
