Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Lead Solution Architect to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in designing and implementing complex solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives while leveraging the latest technologies.
Contract Duration 6months
What You'll Do:
Work directly with subject matter experts, Product owners. designers, technical leads and other architects to re-architect/design needs of next generation Gas and Power trading platform with modern technologies, consistent with business and technology strategies. Deep knowledge of energy trading and risk management processes across front, middle and back-office functionalities with an emphasis on physical trading.
- Expert in designing the architecture of modern, bespoke Energy trading systems, including documenting and agreeing key design decisions and trade-offs across diverse stakeholders.
- Perform requirement gathering, analysis and design across functional, non-functional technical, and operational domains.
- Thought leader in respective domain, will be the key advisor to delivery and design reviews.
- Handling business changes and managing stakeholder expectations
- Manage communication across multiple teams, vendors, and consulting staff
- Knowledge of deal lifecycle
Key Skills:
- Strong functional understanding of physical trading preferably Gas and/or Power, ideally including complex contract optionality and portfolio and schedule optimization, Knowledge of Options modelling and Dependency graphs.
- Demonstrated capability across most of the following architecture facets:
- Data – Deep knowledge of data modelling for both transactional and analytic use cases, familiarity with real-time reporting techniques (including distributed caching), vendor and bespoke reporting tools, data migration and reconciliation techniques and tools. Familiarity with MongoDB unstructured Database.
- Technical – Hands-on Expert with demonstrated experience in architecture and design patterns, their usage, implementation and implications, including documenting and agreeing the design inclusive of the trade-offs for commodity trading systems. Familiarity with core AWS product offerings; code development (C#/Java); microservice containerization tools (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes); web UI development (React). Must understand Infrastructure as a Code (Terraform)
- Integration - Expert experience with integration techniques, including real-time messaging (AMQ), API design (JSON, Swagger), and batch techniques.
- Infrastructure and Operational – Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automated deployments via Ansible, GIT Repositories. cloud infrastructure offerings, Grid Computing elasticity, and cost optimization.
- Thorough understanding of Agile delivery methodology
- Candidate must be able to work in small teams, or alone, for project delivery
- Candidate should be able to exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, to deliver high quality solutions to clients
- Candidate should be able to liaise with other teams to resolve cross functional issues
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical Must Have Skills: Familiarity with Microservices architecture and related technologies (containerization, messaging, caching). Familiarity with Cloud hosting (AWS).

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team at a gas-to-power facility utilizing aero-derivative or industrial gas turbines. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of turbine and balance-of-plant (BoP) control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations, including support for power plants running on natural gas or liquid fuel

Responsibilities

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with control systems in power generation facilities, specifically those operating on natural gas or liquid fuel using aero-derivative or industrial turbine generators.
- Proven experience with GE Mark VIe, Woodward, or similar turbine control systems.
- Strong background in PLC, SCADA, and HMI programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of turbine start-up/shutdown logic, first-fire, FSNL, and BoP systems.
- Proficiency in diagnostics and troubleshooting of control system faults and operational anomalies.
- Experience implementing and documenting logic changes and system upgrades.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
- Competency in using engineering tools for control system programming and simulation.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Regional Specialty team at Marsh & McLennan Asia Business Services (MMABS) . This role will be based in our Pavilion Damansara Corporate Towers, Kuala Lumpur office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working as per respective team's arrangement.
Risk Engineer - Power Generation / Power Construction
- Plan and execute insurance underwriting surveys for clients and prospects in Asia.
- The work will require planning the survey and travel, leading the survey team which may include underwriter engineers and producing the Underwriting survey reports to the required deadlines.
- The work will involve overseas travel.
- The work will cover (Operational Upstream and Downstream clients and Upstream and Downstream Construction Projects / Operational Power and Power Construction Projects, emphasis on Conventional Power such as Gas Fired, Coal Fired, and Renewable Power such as wind power, PV solar, BESS, hydroelectric, geothermal, and etc
We will count on you to:
- Support the Practice for insurance underwriting surveys outside Asia, GERE and GRETN.
- Conduct Risk Management surveys for clients e.g. multi-national (power / oil) companies.
- Provide technical support to clients and prospects as and when required such as attending client meetings, and seminars and renewal roadshows. For large clients this will require planning and management of the annual survey plan.
- Support the Practice for developing Deep Dive Reviews, Loss Estimations for topics related to Asset Integrity/Inspection, Maintenance, Operations and Process Safety Management.
- Provide support to the Asia Power Practice with collection of risk engineering fees.
- Support the Claims Practice as required/appropriate.
- Attend technical seminars, conferences for Conventional / Renewable Power, Marsh Power risk engineering seminars and GERE team meetings to maintain and develop technical competences.
- Develop thought leadership products such as Position Papers and contributions to the GERE and GRETN Loss Control Newsletter.
- Provide ongoing support and development of GERE and GRETN technical methods and tools such as the Marsh Risk Ranking tool.
- Identify and deliver business development opportunities such as consultancy work for clients and prospects e.g. Power Deep Dive, Loss Estimation, Enterprise Risk Management workshops.
- Support the Energy and Power Practices for tender proposals for clients and prospects.
What you need to have:
- Minimum a Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or similar.
- 5 to 10 years in Power Generation / Power Construction industry with Operational, Technical or Projects focus .
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written (English).
- Good presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Willing to travel frequently.
